With 12 of 12 last week, you didn't truly get a Sophie / Shep posting.
Let's fix that right now, shall we?

While some people use the platform as VagueBook, I try not. I post funnies mostly - or at least things I THINK are funny, but I try not give the folks lobs I do want them to think about it, even for a nanosecond.
Two days ago was the one-year anniversary of our shelter-in-place order, and nothing was the same again. One thing being: no more handshakes (which I do NOT miss). But I thought of our now 'elbow greetings' - or my faux elbow greeting (show my elbow from six feet away, but still no need to touch me!)
But I thought of Young Frankenstein and posted the above .gif with: I cannot believe that for an entire year we all haven't been saying: "Taffeta, Darling"........."Taffeta, Sweetheart".
I know my demographic. These people wouldn't (or shouldn't) be associated with me if they didn't get the association.
Oh wait - I just got a laughing thingy. Yay me!
Well, in the meantime, enjoy Madeline Kahn.

You know, I rarely use my slow cooker. But when at the grocery, I picked up a pork loin, whereas we might usually just do chops. I figgered the loin was less pricey in certain ways (i.e. leftovers). Now, I just needed an inventive way to cook it.
Slow cooking seemed to be the most practical answer - just not during the week, as it would take hours, but inconvenient hours at that. So it was a weekend meal.
Here we go...........
SPICE RUBSo I'm doing my 131st 12 of 12.
Normally it is 12 pictures taken on the 12th of the month. Since I only post once per day, you get my images the following day. All pictures taken with my iPhone. Click images to enlarge, if you choose.Created by Chad Darnell and picked up from, what I can tell, any number of random bloggers who then link back to him and vice versa. Chad is no longer doing this, nor is successor coordinating the linking of other 12 of 12'ers anymore. Erik is back and I think he's picking up 12 of 12 again.
That is all until next month.
We seemed forever stuck on vaccinating 70 and up. That was mostly due to lack of vaccine - not an inordinate number of senior citizens.......though to be honest, I haven't done the research on that.
Just 10 days ago they opened it to those 60 and up and a week later to 50 and up.
710, my sister and brother-in-law got their first shot a week ago. "My" posse are starting to get them this week.
One Cleveburgh mega station is prepared to do 8,000 shots per day. And thankfully, they are doing it in a part of town that is underserved for minorities and people of colour. It's right at a major bus changing station and the city will also provide ride vouchers for people to get there. We are finally doing something right.
My place of work has given out close to 50,000 vaccines. 50,000 patients. More vaccines.......because most of them have been two shots. We finally got the J&J (one shot) in the last week, but the majority are still Pfizer.
But I'm realizing the new intro line to people isn't "hey baby, what's your sign", it's "hey baby, which vaccine did you get?".
Discussion now centers on one or two shots? If two shots (and one, I suppose - though know one I know has gotten the J&J one), what was the side effects for each dose and the severity of each. The humble brag that comes with the "I had no issues at all" - the people who hate them behind their back. I kid.
I'm amused at the vaccine shopping. I never ask for which brand are they hoping. Is it so they only take one shot that is 73% effective, or do they want the 94% one - which requires two? Without knowing - or asking - I remind them that flu shots are about 35% effective, so take what you are offered.
710 and I are a little excited. At some point in a little over a month we can see my sister and her family. And hopefully we can get together with our Columbus friends. .....and some Cleveland ones.
I still foresee being safe, but with a little bit of comfort knowing we've all been vaccinated.

Back in 2011, when having inaugural drinks with Spo and Someone when I was in Phoenix, the latter asked if it was a music blog.
It isn't, it wasn't. While most posts have a song title and an associate artist, it is schtick. Blogs have to have their own identity, so to speak - I opted for a common thread, and with my love of music, it seemed natural.
Honestly, I co-opted the idea from a now defunct blog (whose name escapes me). The post titles were a brief lyrical phrase, which the noted the song at the end of each entry. I just gave it a twist.
Hey! I never said I was original!
So, there is a website, a podcast and a Netflix show called Sound Exploder. All, in part, are similar, but not quite the same - though the topic is / are.
"They" break down songs.
Kind of.
Say, in the Killers' "When You Were Young", the show truly take it down to the instruments, the style, the experimentation. This was on Netflix. And while the Killers are represented on the site here, it's a different song. So, even through Song Exploders various medium - they don't always cover each avenue.
With this site, the artists might not be as familiar to you. And the ones that are, they aren't necessarily the songs you'd think would be chosen or the most popular. To me, this is not a bad thing.
On the tv version, they're picking the popular acts and popular songs (i.e. R.E.M. has "Losing my Religion" on tv, but "Try Not to Breathe" on the site.).
Now some episodes don't quite take the Killers / R.E.M. approach, but talk more about the impact of the song. That's well and good, but I do love the creation and production aspects of these things, so those are the ones that get my attention.
I find it a good way to experience new music, appreciate older stuff that one might have taken for granted, or appreciate the thought and artistry of how things came to be.
Yet another installment in the drudgery that is everyday shopping. The camera-phone makes it a bit more fun - though I get looks whenever I take pics of products. Like I care what people think!
I was looking at amazon for other things, when this was a suggestion in the mix.
I was all like, "whaaaaaat?".
Clearly, I don't know all of what amazon sells. But clearly, there is nothing they won't make coin on. So to speak.
It billed as a 'funny gift', but it's really not HI-larious. Or is that just me? Thought it does come with a velveteen coin purse.
It still hardly warrants at $19.99 price tag.
And IF you're putting a price on it - are you prostituting yourself to the person you might give this I.O.U.?
BTW - all the reviews were from women. They LOVED it. Do you think the same will be said of them when whomever the recipients were cash in that gift?
Bethca not.
Regardless that he brought Woody Harrelson and Courtney Love notoriety for the movie the People vs Larry Flynt, the events that made the movie are still important.
I still believe in the first amendment - regardless of how the last half decade has twisted that term into knots upon knots in my stomach.
But that is not what today is about.
After Flynt died, I vividly remembered the one and only issue of Hustler I ever saw - and I was all of 15.
Now 15 back then is nothing to 15 now, where this stuff is currently available much easier. I wasn't a naive 15 year old, just not a worldly one either.
So much so that my friends and I called another adult magazine, O.U.I., as we didn't know the word Oui.
Before you figure into that, I had taken French before I was 15. I saw Hustler at 15, I had seen other friend's father's magazine collections for years before. But those were girls who liked hayrides walks in the park, a gentle rain, and the likes. Gauzed and airbrushed women even back then.
Hustler wasn't that.
But what it did offer, the others didn't - as you can see there is man on this cover. The first nekkid man Blobby would see in print. It would not be my last. So that I might see more, I stole this from the father of one of my friends.
Now, this pictorial with the man in the cowboy hat is now equivalent to the Cinemax adult movies that came on after 12 midnight and the poor dudes can never be shown erect. Now that is porn "acting".
I'd say he presented as 'full', but hardly hard.
Still my 15 year old brain didn't care.
Now that I think back on it, I'm about 89.4% sure he / they never showed it face, which may have made it more intriguing. It's Hustler. It wasn't supposed to be about the dudes.
Looking back on this - the now old Blobby isn't really turned on by the guy on the cover (and the spread on which he's second banana) the way 15 yo Blobby was. But again.......he was the first. And not the last - though the last for Hustler.
After that, I was just ripping off male porn from magazine / book stores.
Thanks dead Larry.
Oh - and if you ever wondered why dads kept stashes of their porn - other than to whack to, that is - is that it is lucrative. Just a quick search for this cover 'art', shows me that the cheapest version of resale of this magazine is $54. .......though I did see one copy on sale for........and you guessed it.........$69.

The floor on which my main campus office sits somehow got flooded over the weekend.
Oddly, an education coordinator went in to the office on Sunday and found it this way (to your right). I think I was the last one to leave on Friday, and I'm 99.99% sure it wasn't anything I did, but there is no real way of knowing when the rain to terror (see what I did there?) started.
In theory, security is supposed to be making rounds, but we're a little off the beaten path in terms of the patient care areas, so I don't think it happens as often as they say it does.
It seems something on the roof leaked, yet the floor between us and the roof didn't really get touched and the floor below is worse off than the hit we took.
As it is, my office was mostly spared. Water got under the door and ruined a box of basically nothing. Possible water damage on the legs of two of my chairs, but it never quite made it to, or beyond, my desk.
Still, my wing of the floor is deemed 'uninhabitable'.
Potential mold and mold spores are the rationale. So, us folk had to find other places from which to work, be it home or wherever.
As it happens, I have a second office in another location - which is still pretty empty. Maybe 10% full. Even then, it's a private office avec door, but no one is ever around. Honestly in my 'section' which might have 200 cubes, I can count on one hand how many people are there.
So for the next 2-3 weeks (or in construction terms 4-5), I will be working there or from home.
It's the constant noise of the always running dehumidifiers that would drive me nuts. As it is, I won't have to hear them from 10 miles away.

Unlike the other house, where we were fairly far off the road - which was a plus and minus - no one could see any package when it was delivered.
This, you can see from the street if a package is on the front porch. And while our delivery requests all say 'please deliver to the back of the house' it's only about a 50 / 50 chance that actually happens.
We have had no issues with any packages missing, or.people being on-site when they shouldn't be.
710 felt better if we had one them doorbell cams.
At best, I was on the fence about the entire thing.
I think it's a little invasive. While delivery and mail folks might be used to so many people having these things, it just weirds me out a bit. I'm not sure I want people knowing I drove past their house at 17:13 on a Monday, And while I always pick up dog poop, do I want them knowing Shep went on their lawn in the first place?
Let's not forget - what if my outfit wasn't coordinated and I had on a black belt and brown shoes. Oh the horror!!! The humiliation.
Never mind that on a Saturday or Sunday morning walk, chances of me being in grey sweat pants is high. Like, off the charts high.
Allegedly, you can change the settings so you don't get alerts from the cars driving by, or the animal highway that seemingly happens all hours of the night.
We have a possum (see above), a skunk, Walter the cat, who just criss cross our front yard all night long. 710 woke up to like seven alerts the next morning of 'activity'. All critters of some kind. Not a robber to be had.
I exit and enter through the backdoor (jokes not needed here) so, when 710 starts to think we need another at that point of egress, I might balk.
