Why Can't You Behave?

You feline fanatics get your wish today - more of Sophie.

It's not all HRH, but she gets equal billing to Mr. Poopers.

Shep really trying to be a good boy and sit for his treat.
Bobbi is our neighbor - the one who keeps buying Shep toys.  Spoiled, he is.
When we walk by her house, he always checks the driveway to see if she's there. Smart man.

Well, she's not about to make eye contact.  ...even for the promise of food.

Space Invader.
She tolerates it pretty well. He is totally oblivious.

Sophie is all about the attention and love. I am happy to provide both.

Probable 'shot of the week'.
Blue sky and overcats. Greenery and city scape.
.....and one pooch.

Fuck You

I've semi been off Facebook for the last few weeks.  I've tried not to look at some of the shit out there, and that was - or should have been - reinforced in the last few days.

I'm going for at least a month. If I need pics of friends, I can look at their Instagram.  Usually they are just pics and no stupid-ass posts.

Still, I scrolled through yesterday. Probably a mistake. I didn't stay long.

The day before, a friend texted me with a linked article how Kennedy (the justice, not the president, or tertiary MTV VJ) destroyed his legacy as a gay rights hero. Apparently that title comes with a robe and no cape.

The thing that wised me up to stop even viewing FB was the title image by the same friend.

As fucked up as the GOP is, there are some very myopic democrats too.

Honestly, shouldn't the "F U"s be saved for the Alitos, Thomases and the newest fascist? Are we truly placing blame on Kennedy for wanting to retire at the age of 82 and after working since 1961?  You think he "owes us" or something?   He's not supposed to retire because it's an inconvenience to you?

It's such flawed logic, and it makes me a little crazy.  So while I scrolled through FB, I am committed to not commenting on shit like this.  Six people "liked" the post.  I wanted to seriously ask they 'why?'.   But then it would become a flame war.  Sure, I'd prevail, but thousands would perish.

Flawed logic also applies to posts by people who demean for whom others voted  - or didn't, but should have.  I am super tired of the people putting up shit about the folks who didn't vote at all for Hillary because Bernie got screwed.

These non-voters are always friends of friends. Yeah - THAT scenario.  Please oh please, present me first hand information on this faction......I beg of you. And dare you.  Until then STFU.

The true flawed logic is:  Hillary won the popular vote and yet still lost the election. So please tell me how those alleged 2,031 folks who might have stayed home out of spite swayed an election ?

The people who say this shit are the first ones who would tell you not to tell them how to vote, but they're happy to tell you.

If you want someone to blame on today's Supreme Court - leave Kennedy alone. He is not your servant or saviour.  Blame Mitch McConnell.  He is the sole reason there will now be an unjust court. Yes, it will be conservative, but there have long been those. This goes beyond that.

McConnell's holding up Obama's nominee is the reason for what is about to come, so spare me your misguided indignation.

Drivin' Nails in My Coffin

This will be short and sour.

I cannot believe how fucked as a nation we are now. Kiss jurisprudence goodbye.

I do not say this lightly:  having BLOTUS fill another Supreme Court seat is actually worse than him winning another term in office.

The phrase these days seems to be: "civility".

All I can say is the Dems better get their shit together and refuse to let any nomination even get to discussion let alone a vote.  It worked for Weasel McConnell and while I'd like to think the Democrats are better than that - this is not the time to 'go high'.......all apologies to Michelle Obama.

This is honestly depressing as fuck.  I've tried to block it out today, but felt the need to record it here for history.......however short it will now be.

Protection

Oh Boo-fucking-Hoo.

What a fucking snowflake.

You know, owners can toss you from their restaurant even if you have a Secret Service detail.

Here's the thing though:  in the history of other presidents has any other Secretary of the EPA, Secretary of Education and a Press Secretary ever gotten a Secret Service detail?

It's not unprecedented but it is rare. That multiple people outside the President and Vice President (and immediate family members) have details is incalculable, the odds are so rare.

To me, this just says that this administration is so incredibly unlikeable and that people see the damage they are doing and the associated hate of others that they need round the clock protection before someone takes them out.

I'm not suggesting someone do that of course. But I'm not not suggesting it.

If Secret Service wants to take time off of pretending to protect these pussies, they know where to find me.

Mr. Self Destruct

I am by no means the most ardent Nine Inch Nails fan. I know a handful of songs and little with which you can sing-a-long.

Trent Reznor (who basically IS the band) has some NIN project or other coming down the pike - the end of a trilogy he started in 2016 - so he was in the Sunday Times.  It was a short Q&A about several different things.

There was a question on if artists have a responsibility to address politics. Mr. Reznor believes they do, as they have a voice and certain influence. He thinks it is easier to keep one's mouth shut and that certain artists are more worried about their brand - and he only kind of sort of mentions Taylor Swift - but as an example, making sure there are more hers out there.

But it was the follow-up question that really hit me. Not the question, but his answer. The reported asked if it is different now than when he started the trilogy. He said it does, but it was the rest of his response that resonated....or Reznorated, if you will....with me.

My worrying about it isn’t helping anything. But what Donald Trump is doing is concerning and infuriating — and it’s not the conservative agenda, it’s not a question of religious preference, it’s not a question of should government be big or small. I don’t have any problem with those topics. But the disregard for decency and truth and civility is what’s really disheartening. It feels like a country that celebrates stupidity is really taking it up a notch.

That last two lines.

Oddly it made my heart sink and swell at the same time. Trent put into words - those last two lines - what I knew deep inside, but could not quite articulate succinctly.

....and who am I to argue with a man who has arms like that?

My Music Monday

Week 7.  Albums (and one selection) that were important during your formative years.

Granted Abbey Road came out when I was 5, but it was one of those albums to which I gravitated as I did my rock music education.

There are a lot of great Beatles albums for sure, but Abbey Road was a little more unique, if nothing else than for Side 2.  After "Here Comes the Sun" (yawn!), and "Because" (arguably on of their best executed songs), comes a medley of eight seamlessly segued and semi-connected songs.

Abbey Road was the last recorded disk by the band, but not the final release. Let it Be was released as their last disk, but Abbey Road was recorded later and released earlier.

How Can I Refuse

Poor "little"  (see, it's in quotes because she isn't!) Sarah Fuckabee-Sanders got her plus-sized panties in a wad because she was denied service at a restaurant in Virginia.

Of course there is / will be the right outrage and the eventual on-line and probably physical backlash to the restaurant and its owner.

Of course the same people outraged won't see the irony the whole gay wedding - cake shop refusal thingy.

Yes - while SCOTUS did the ruling, Fuckabee-Sanders praised it and the baker's right to free speech.

Naturally I'm biased here. I hate this administration, I hate this woman and every single thing for which she stands. Sure the bakers based their refusal on 'religious freedom', but the owner of the Red Hen could do the same thing. It's now the law of the land.  All they have to say is under the Ten Commandments they view 'lying' as a sin and the second biggest liar in the land was in their establishment which they could not condone by g-d's law.

Period.  Boom!

All this aside, why should these clods expect to ever get an excellent customer experience?  Fuckabee-Sanders went to a town that overwhelmingly did not vote for BLOTUS. She had to know that. And she has the second most recognizable face in this administration (yeah, that includes you Pence).  Why the fuck did you think you'd be accepted in this place.........or any?

This administration is finally starting to see how disliked they are. Take this headline from Friday:

How how I laughed and laughed and laughed.......inside....where it counts.

I think the most reprehensible thing of it all is Fuckabee called out the restaurant and her experience on twitter...............but not her own personal account.  Nooooo - it was on the Press Secretary account, which basically saying the government condones a praise or tear down any singular personal business, helping to sway public opinion.  Even I'll give that fat-ass president the nod that he uses his own account and not the POTUS one for his buffoonery.

If the Red Hen wanted to publicly shame Fucakbee, they could just say didn't have enough food - they had to decide to feed her or the rest of their customers.  That might shut her pie-hole.

Roll With It

It has been super-duper busy at work, so I didn't have lots of time to take images.

Roly-Poly Puppy

Eyes on each other.....especially Sophie to Shep.

This handsome dude greeted me - and talked at me - at doggie daycare.
His Great Dane buddy did too. I laughed when he put this two front paws up on the partition - as if he needed to get taller. Then he slobbered all over the sleeve of my shirt.

One of my daycare pick up pics that get sent 710. Good Shep profile.

I Don't Care

There was a line in the movie the Queen, where Tony Blair asks rhetorically of his staff regarding the royals' behavior:  "won't somebody save these people from themselves.....?"

That's kind of how I feel about the BLOTUS family. All of them. Even that little one, who probably should be separated from his family................by ICE.....or at least Children Services.

In a clan full of absolute morons, it's scary to think, but Melanoma might have been the most sane.

Past tense? Normally I'd say yes, but then I look at the rest of the group and still can't find anyone less moronic.  No worries, she's still in the moron bucket.

I was just about willing to let her stupid fucking ass tweet go during the surge of coverage over separated and imprisoned children.....

(really???  think first!)

.....when she wore the stupidest $29 coat ever produced.....to visit the kiddie koncentration internment camps

Oh, I can't blame the coat. In the right setting, it could be whimsical. Forced Government Orphanages for Non-Whites was not the right setting.

But of all the people she was with in DC, the actual trip and then in Texas, did not one person stop to think and say - "W.T.F., Melanoma?"

Well, I think that answer is obvious.

I will give the entire gang this:  each time they hit a new low and I think they can't surpass it - they do.

Good thing they're not alcoholics - they might never hit rock bottom.

Site of the Month

BLOTUS' reversal on separating families (which must have just killed him to sign......though mid-terms are coming up!) aside, I may as well keep with a theme of child separation and overall abhorrent behaviour.

BLOTUS & Co. are still not set on reunited the 2300 kids to their parents. Hell, that twat Kirstjen Nielsen doesn't even know where some of the kids or parents are.  She's too busy eating ironic tacos (I wonder if I or anyone will get that reference in a year?).

Some enterprising people went and scraped LinkedIn for every ICE worker who had the galls and balls to put up their profile.

These enterprising people compiled the data and published it here.

I do not even struggle one iota passing this on - and encouraging any / all of you to post it to any social media site to which you belong - due to the fact of the circumstances in which we now find ourselves.

Rounding up folks like this is the semi-equivalent of Germany invading Poland in 1939.  This is how it starts. We have tools to out / shame folks who work for ICE.

I totally get that this is their job and it's what puts shelter over their family's heads and food on their table.   ......and I totally don't care.

That even one of these ICE folks can go home and sleep at night is enough for me to help push out all their names. There are more respectable lines of work..........like cleaning the bathrooms at Taco Bell.  ......and now that ICE is in the process of detaining or deporting all the folks that would have gladly done that Taco Bell  job for a paycheck, I'm sure there are plenty of positions for which they can apply.

Hell is for Children

I'll be the first to admit that I don't like kids - in general.  That said, is there anything more heart wrenching than seeing and hearing them being taken from their parent?

You don't even have to imagine it - all you have to do is remember yourself as a child if you ever accidentally got separated from one of them and the angst you'd have.

Now multiply that by 1000.

This administration is reprehensible.  Forget the bible quote part........if you can. What a fucking buttload of bullshit.  ....though how fucking beautiful would it be if Jeff Sessions' church kicked his weeny ass out for multiple cases of child abuse?

But BLOTUS' claim - and that twat who heads Homeland Security - who says it was a law passed by congress....a democratic law.  That is a lie!!!!

No law or court ruling mandates family separations.

Let's say there was a law though - just for argument's sake.  17 months into office, BLOTUS decides to enforce said (fake) law.  No one since 1997 - when the law this administration sites was passed - has been taking kids away from their parents.  And BLOTUS & Co hadn't been doing it either.

So the questions the press, congress and citizens should be asking is:  why now?

That is IF a law actually exists that does separate families.  But since there is not - the question everyone should be asking is:  WHY?

What stupid administration fuckwad was it that said there was a special place in hell Justin Trudeau because of challenging tariff talk.  That shitbag doesn't even know the special hell he and all his "friends" will be going - but it's hot, and plays the Beach Boys' "Kokomo" on an eternal loop.

One Hundred Years

I've "joked" that I am not getting out this life anytime soon.  Both sides of my family have longevity.  Too much so - it could be argued.

This last weekend my uncle celebrated his 100th birthday!

That's pretty incredible.

Clete is my mother's oldest brother. His kids - my first cousins - are semi-considerably older than I. Tim, the youngest, is 16 years my senior. The oldest is maybe 25 years older than I.  Their kids are closer to my age.

His children - the three remaining - were present.  11 of the 18 (?) grandchildren (my second cousins) were there. And an unknown number of great grandchildren were in attendance as well.

I was the only one from my side of the family to attend.  I RSVP'd since I assumed I'd be taking my mother - but she wasn't feeling 100% and it was 95F out. You cannot take an almost 90 year old out who weighs about 80 lbs out into that kind of heat. So I went as her representative. .....and I do like my cousins who I do not see all that often.

I'm not 100% sure Clete knew who I was. He does have dementia, and even if he wasn't aware, he played along with things like he knew who I was. He certainly seemed to know why everyone was there.

(Yikes that shirt needed to be readjusted!)

Still I had some good conversations with my second cousins - and some more adult ones with my first cousins, though most of them revolved around them asking about my mother, which was fine.

I took a number of pictures for my mother.

Clete was funny.  He told me he was going to make another lap of 100 years.  g-d love him, because I'm not even willing to do the full century.

My Music Monday

Week 6.

Yes, I've mentioned my love of John Paul White's 2016 release, Beulah, which goes to prove that at the age of 53, I can consider it a formative year - at least when it comes to finding, appreciating and enjoying music.

Nary a song a dud on this disk, so I've choosing "I Hate the Way You Love Me".  It doesn't matter which song I select, as they all work.  Here's hoping you enjoy it.

Incredible

It's been in forever since we've been to the moving pictures.  Over a month and a half since the last one.

And with the Incredibles 2, about 15 years later.

Remember when Pixar was original?  Then came some questionable choices (I still think Monsters Inc sucked).  The first Cars movies was ok.  Two?  No.  Three?  Fuck no.  Then there was Planes, which from what I could tell was Cars with wings.

It all seemed like a Disney cash grab.

That said, I immediately loved the Incredibles. It is close to a perfect movie as you can get - fun, funny, exciting - all in one.  Is it possible that Holly Hunter has never been better in a movie?  I'm 99% sure it's the only movie in which I can stand Samuel L. Jackson - and it may have been years before I even knew it was him.

As fun as it is / was - there was no better performance than that of Edna Mode, voiced by the writer / director, Brad Bird.

Pixar announced the Incredibles 2 maybe four years ago - and they never deviated from the release date, even though they put out mediocre move after mediocre movie.

The theater was packed!  Actual, the second theater was packed. The first one was sold out - so the theater hastily opened another theater. Way too many kids for my liking. But it's Disney - and opening weekend - so I should have expected it.

Yes, the movie was well done. The story was somewhat predictable, unfortunately, but it was still well executed.  Yes, Edna was great, and as much as I love Holly Hunter, the star of the movie is Jack Jack for sure.

There were just some really good animation elements to the picture, be it character affectations or one scene where Elatigirl fights a supposed villain and it seems to go from Pixar animation to animation animation. I found it very cool.

I only found one glitch, which comes early on - as the movie picks up right near where the original ended. It's a timeline thing but it bugged me a little.

When the movie ended, many people (not us) burst into spontaneous applause, which was kind of fun and yet annoying.  It was fun - I'll look forward to seeing it again.

Kiss

You got an extra Sophie shot yesterday.  No worries, she's somewhat represented here.  It is Saturday, after all.

Shep helped us clean out the garage last weekend when it was pouring outside.
He didn't really know what to do.

The boy is going to break that window with his tail, and then doggie daycare is gonna charge me.

Appreciative kisses from daycare pick-up.

I'm thinking if she intended to smother me, she'd have done it years ago.

12

Birthday Girl.

My iPhone had to pop up the reminder, but Sophie turns 12 today!!!

....at least that's what Rescue Village told us her birthdate was. It's probably totally made up, but it's made us feel good and provided a connection.

Sophie - formerly known as Fabiano (not even Fabiana) - came to us all of 2.2 lbs.  She was somewhat of a talker, but we encouraged it. Actually, we probably over-encouraged it. She talks all. the. time.

While we loved Kylie and Tovah - Sophie is a very very very affectionate cate. There is zero aloofness about her. She must be around at all times and attention must be paid.

.....and it is.

When we took Petey in, the entire thing was contingent upon Sophie being ok with it.  True story.

I'd love it if she were one of those cats on the internet that snuggled with the dogs, but she is not that cat.

If Sophie liked tuna or wet food, she'd get a special treat today, but she is not your typical cat, so it will just have to be extra pets.

So Happy Birthday to HRH Sophie.

Hard to Concentrate

I really have no words on the camps for immigrant children. It sounds heartbreaking for everyone except ICE and just about anyone on Capitol Hill or 1600 Pennsylvania.

People think someone - or someone else -  is going to step in and do something, but that's not happening. We've been desensitized to the behaviour of this administration.

This is how it happens.

I know you all roll your eyes at me for the last two years when I put BLOTUS and Hitler in the same sentence or paragraph. Tough - I will continue to do it, as it's really not far from reality.  Throw some trains into the picture and you're right on target.

Here's the problem with the stories of taking children from parents. Here's the problem building camps - which is being reported - to house up to 5,000 kids:

We are dealing with basically two groups of people here - Holocaust deniers or folks who are ok with the Holocaust.

And you know in WWII how the allies came Germany's rescue?   Yeah................BLOTUS just went to Montreal to make sure that won't happen.

12 of 12

So I'm doing my 99th 12 of 12.

Normally it is 12 pictures taken on the 12th of the month. Since I only post once per day, you get my images the following day. All pictures taken with my iPhone. Click images to enlarge, if you choose.

Created by Chad Darnell and picked up from, what I can tell, any number of random bloggers who then link back to him and vice versa. Chad is no longer doing this, nor is successor coordinating the linking of other 12 of 12'ers anymore. Now it's just Erik and myself - that I know of.....as it's the only blog post he's still doing......for now.

I still continue to do this, because of all my consistent post topics, I actually like this one the most.

06:10.  Cereal bowls in the dishwasher.

06:30.  Leaving for work....using my new back-up camera.

06:45.  Walking into work via the front entrance.

08:35.  X-ray Time.

My last visit to the ortho surgeon. I'm all healed.
It's only taken 7 months and 12 days. ....but who's counting?

11:00.  Break-time.

12:45.  ...and underwhelming salad. It looked pretty though.

14:02.   Apparently no one seems to be concerned about being "on time" for a 2p meeting.

17:20.  At my parking deck, leaving work.

17:45.  Shep freed from his pied-à-terre

17:55.  Training.

Shep needs some behavioural training.  We nick or buzz him. It doesn't hurt him just gets his attention.  I actually only needed to use it once on the walk. He followed the commands without the negative reinforcement.  ....and we're only on day two.

18:05.  Cut the lawn.
Had to do it to beat the rain that never happened.

22:00.  Nighttime Dolls.
....don't want to end up like Bourdain or Spade, ya know......

Stand and Deliver

The words "liberal elite" will be tossed around.  They will say "unpatriotic".

Remember when the Dixie Chicks' career was ruined by saying, they were embarrassed the president was from Texas, and they didn't want war?   Say what you want, but they separated the office from the person.

Robert De Niro?  No so much.

The Chick's remark was back in 2003.  15 years later it is a very very different world.

BLOTUS supporters won't see the difference of what and how they say things about anyone who is non-BLOTUS or Ivankwhore or her pussy of a husband.  De Niro's statement is clean, concise and he knows how to read a room.

Was it disrespectful?  In the big scheme of things - yes, as I would like to think people are bigger and better than our president. But BLOTUS doesn't get subtlety.....or tact......or discretion - so an anvil from ACME Inc seems to be in order.  De Niro's comment was the right tool for the job.

....and he got a standing ovation for it.  .....at the Tonys.

Yes, I'm queer.  Yes, I've been to Broadway any number of times (ok, I can count on less than two hands), but I don't watch the Tonys - mostly because Mike hasn't asked to make a wager on them (and he dislikes musicals the way I do) - so I didn't see the above clip live.

Queue BLOTUS to tweet what a failing actor De Niro is (and to be fair, he's not completely wrong),  the way he did with Meryl Fucking Streep a few years back.  "Overrated" was the adjective used, I believe. ......and I think we can all agree if there are any words that can be attributed to BLOTUS, that is in the top 10.

Anyhoo........way to go De Niro.  ....it was a way better performance than any of the Focker movies.

My Music Monday

Week five of that Facebook meme on albums that influenced your formative years.  As Fleetwood Mac albums go, I'd venture to say that most would pick Rumours - and with good reason. I picked Tusk for good reasons too.

I would say is was misjudged back in 1979, just because it wasn't like Rumours. It took a few decades to gain critical and artistic acceptance.  I'm still not sure it has fan acceptance. To be fair, only Lindsey Buckingham's contributions are totally different. While Christine McVie and Stevie Nicks don't deviate too too much, some of their songs take liberties that wouldn't happen before or on a single disk.

I'll pull Christine McVie's "Think About Me" for the selection, though I think Buckingham has equal, if not more of the, lead vocals here. It is the closest this disk gets to pop, radio friendly music.

Abandoned

I'm all about the non-traditional obit. There are certainly not enough of them, and I'd know, as I read them daily.

Go ahead. Click on it. Make it bigger. Read it.

....I'll wait.

Even in terms of the non-traditional obit, this takes kind of a dark turn. Well, not kind of. It does.

This made multiple media outlets, which is how I stumbled upon it.

Most of the non-standard have funny stuff written and little anecdotes. I'll go out on a limb that few of them discuss affairs and child abandonment.

Granted the brother-in-law thing has to be weird. I know someone / someones, I guess.  She was married to a man, had an affair with his brother, divorced dude #1 and then married the brother. That has GOT to make Thanksgiving weird, no?   oh oh oh - the brothers worked.....and still work....together.

In the above obit, this one doesn't even say when services are and where she's being interred.  I'd say it's just a spiteful ad - and it was clearly meant to be - but I'd say after 43 seconds after reading it, perhaps they didn't take it from her point of view.

Because of my pop-culture mind, I immediately flashed to the final scene in the Hours, where Laura Brown ruminates on such a decision.........let's take a look, shall we?.....  (I even edited out the first 2 minutes for you)

Yes, there are people out there - not just women - who are not meant to be parents. It would be great if they could figure that out before they actually procreate, but sometimes you can't.

As it turns out, this was not Ms. Dehmlow's problem, as she went on to have other kids with her brother-in-law (or maybe another guy?) and would show other family members pics of the happy family while she ignored her first one.

Smile

Shep. Sophie. Saturday.

Somebody - well, all of us - got caught in a monster storm during a hike.  Day 2 of having my car. I didn't want it smelling like wet dog on day 2.

Day 6, our shoes are STILL drying out.

He's a smiley dog.

Devoured.

Ok....she's just grooming my beard.

I'm sure those teeth could do damage, but they seem harmless.

Sentry.

I was allowed to pass.

Paroled.

Got him out of daycare early yesterday.  He's been in the new car much much more than 710.

Bigot Sunshine

Sooooo.............it's not about the cake.

Shocking!

It's just about the hate.

Some nob in Washburn, TN (population 2,508*) put this sign up in his hardware store back in 2015.

With the SCOTUS ruling on the cake guy from Colorado, the nob decided it was ok to put the sign back in his store window.

I really don't know what to do with such unadulterated bigotry.

Sure - boycotting seems to be the thing to do, until you remember it's Tenne-fucking-ssee and the town has 2,508 folks in it.  I don't mean to cast wide-spread judgments, but he kind of lives with his target audience, doesn't he?  And dare I say, it's highly doubtful that Washburn is holding up the 10% of homos rule.

Boycotting isn't the right touch here.  Personally, I'd rather go in with like $2,805 in cash and use it all to purchase stuff.  Then on the way out, "see the sign", tell them I'm big fucking faggot and I want to return every single item.

It's not enough for them to know people might not come into their store. It's more important for them to see the money go right back into your pockets. Almost like they're now paying me $2,805 of their money because I'm that big fucking faggot.

THAT has got to hurt.

But at least call it 'hate'.  Stop pretending it's for religious reasons. Look in the mirror and just tell yourself you hate people. Certain people. Specific people - even though you've never met them and don't know them.

Hey Mr. Hardware Store Owner -  don't forget to cry 'discrimination' when someone turns the tables and refuses to serve you.  SCOTUS says it's ok.

Sadness

Would it reflect poorly on me that I considered making light - kind of - of Kate Spade's passing?

Of course it would.

But how can one not bring up being related by marriage to David Spade. Even the thought of having to watch Joe Dirt would make me want to hang myself.

While I never saw the movie, you gotta figure Kate had to due to family obligations.  ....and you gotta figure there is no coming back from that.

There is also the downer of selling your handbag company for a measly $125M when someone then turns around and sells it for $2.4 BILLION.

That said, all the money in the world doesn't free oneself from mental illness. It doesn't discriminate. The old adage of money not buying happiness could apply here.

Nor does it seem to be the answer for assistance to care. Clearly, Spade could afford that if she so chose ( and maybe she did), but the stigma remains. I kind of get that. Kind of.

My cousin and I have joked that all of our family members are on some sort of anti-depressant or anti-anxiety med. I'd say we're pretty open about it. My sister and I had to relay this to my mother after my dad died and she spent time in the hospital. But admitting depression to her doctor was something she could not do.........for a long time.

The funny thing is how many people do take something. If everyone knew how many, the stigma wouldn't be as acute.

But there are many who don't have the stigma, yet don't have access to health care, let alone mental health care. Look at every white mass murderer out there. All the news or politicians will talk about is their mental health and lack of care.  Still, it's out of reach for them the way the system is built.

The above tweet kills me. Not so much the response. In a way, not so much the original. It seems mental illness can be treated, but being dumb is just a chronic condition.  Does that feckless cunt - yeah, I said it - really think before she tweets?  How could she not have seen the responses coming before she ever hit 'send'?

Too bad Ivanka is not sister-in-law to David Spade. Then I could make a Just Shoot Me joke.
