Finally I gave to the Kerry campaign. I was mentioning to some folks the other day that I just wasn't feelin' the love w/him. He's no Howard Dean. Gov & M.D.!

But Becky took me (and Jon too)to task for not contributing to the ousting Bush. Jon wanted to wait until he knew who Kerry's running mate would be. Becky's response?

That's unconscienable! (Spelling?!) Why don't you just go ahead and VOTE for Bush, too???!!

Really, what are you waiting for? To see if HITLER is going run w/Kerry? I'd still vote for them, frankly.

Shame, shame on you.

Yes. Shame Shame on us. I did notice Morty never mentioned whether he's given or not. HE wasn't spanked!

But why should we hear about body bags, and deaths, and how many, what day it's gonna happen, and how many this or what do you suppose? Or, I mean, it's, it's not relevant. So why should I waste my beautiful mind on something like that? And watch him suffer."— Barbara Bush on "Good Morning America,"

Thus begins Frank Rich's article on 5/23 in the NYT.

The 'him' is her son.

Is it *any* wonder GW is not only uncaring, but stupid? Ferchrissakes - this is a professional political family!!

I want her to go to each family of a service man that died and say their deaths were not relevant.

81% Disapproval Rating

I don't know anyone @ George Mason University - but I love them. A recent informal, unscientific survey of historians conducted their History News Network found that eight in ten historians responding rate the current presidency an overall failure. Even Nixon was rated @ 65% failure rating. You can find full article here.

I'd say I'm SHOCKED, but this administration is just a tad bit worse than Darth Vader and the Empire! I was gonna edit it - but decided not to. And as Becky pointed out - they probably didn't pay their mini-bar tab either!

With questions swirling about who authorized allowing relatives of Osama bin
Laden to fly out of the country immediately after 9/11, The Hill newspaper
is reporting that President Bush is "refusing to answer repeated requests by
the September 11 commission" about the matter [1].

Last year, Secretary of State Colin Powell acknowledged that, even as all
foreign and domestic flights were grounded after 9/11, the bin Ladens and
other wealthy Saudis were allowed to fly out of the United States. He said
that "the flights were well-known and it was coordinated within the
government" [2].

Yet now, even as White House officials claim that "the [P]resident has fully
cooperated with this commission in an unprecedented way" [3], the panel vice
chairman Lee Hamilton disclosed that the Administration is refusing to
answer any questions on the subject -- even in closed-door meetings with
Senators [4]. The President is also still refusing to release 28 pages of
the bipartisan 9/11 congressional report about the Saudi Government. That
report is known to "depict a Saudi government that not only provided
significant money and aid to the suicide hijackers but also allowed
potentially hundreds of millions of dollars to flow to Al Qaeda" [5]. Some
of that money may have even flowed through Riggs Bank [6], where the
President's uncle [7] (and major fundraiser [8]) is a top executive.
Nonetheless, the President continues to refer to the Saudi government as
"our friend" [9].

I'm just curious. What DOES one have to do in the Bush administration to actually lose their job???? Not that any soldier involved in the Iraq abuses shouldn't be punished - but I do not see where any DOD folks are paying any price. Either they ordered this shit or they have no control of their troops. Either way I see huge violations. No where in this administration believes the buck stops w/them. And who the fuck believes that Shrub knows what the word "abhorrent" means? And how many hours do you think he spent practicing the pronunciation of the word? I'm guessing 2.
