Attacked by Monsters

So, on last Sunday's call with the peeps, I brought up the Cornell rape thing, not really knowing much about it other than it was 7 against 1. Naturally, we were all appalled.

What I didn't know is that it happened a few years back.

What I didn't know - though suspected - is that campus police and administration investigated it and basically brushed it under the proverbial rug, as so many institutes of higher learning do.

What I didn't know - and that I'm gathering from bits of social media posts - is that while two of the accused were expelled (no charges) the other five had to write an essay on why it's bad to rape. Or some such nonsense.

Seriously though - an essay.

Fuck, even the kids in the Breakfast Club had to do a day of detention!

Since the rape (yes, not 'an incident', not 'the event') is a few years old at this point, I'm not quite sure how this is all making news now, but I'm glad it is. I suspect it's from a civil lawsuit that was filed by the victim, but fuck - every social media outlet (ok, those of which I'm aware) have picked it up.  ........and posting individual entries about each of the accused along with pictures of the perps.

So much attention that the DA's office is now looking into the case and considering pressing criminal charges.

Doubleplusgood.

Allegedly, one of the accused has been fired from his job at Wells Fargo.  Yay again.

I'd say, innocent until proven guilty, but I'm not sure I can subscribe to that anymore.  Trump. Brock Tuner. Clarence Thomas. Brett Cavanaugh. Jeffrey Epstein.  Countless others.  Guilty as fuck and let off the hook. All of them.

Someone has to start paying, and I hope it begins with these seven.

I'm sure I've said this before, but I had / have never understood Snapchat.  Why it existed. What it did. Why it did it.  My basic understanding was that it held onto sent information for a brief period of time only to be wiped out soon after.  I am probably getting it wrong or oversimplifying it .

If I am in the ballpark, there are so many cases where people retain their conversations and at least two of the accused have those. Let's hope it does them in.

I've seen enough Law & Order SVUs to know that it will only take the weak link to sell the other six up the river.

And if you haven't seen it, I highly suggest viewing Promising Young Woman. I'm not a huge Carey Mulligan fan, but she shines in this.

It is not an easy movie to watch, but I think it's an important one. It was done by the same writer / director of Saltburn. I do think it's an important movie to watch......at least for aspiring rapists.  ....and for all of those who haven't taken sexual assault stories to heart.

Once again, the accused are blaming the accuser. Rapists and Sexual Assaulters are the only one's who can be blamed for a crime. The days of implicating the victim should be over. It's smarmy and ugly. Unfortunately, it has worked time and time again.....................for white men......and one black Supreme Court Justice.

Young Girl

While I am incredibly upset by the bullshit on the "Epstein Files", and even a little surprised, in a way, I just gotta laugh at the GOP.

The whole, we will release them; we won't release them; they don't exist; they never existed is just so fucking desperate.

But some GOP committee then banning the release of them after the White House, DOJ and FBI doubling down they don't exist is just fucking comical.

You're banning the release over something that "doesn't exist".

Irony. Hypocrisy. Stupidity. All of the Above.

Granted, I don't watch or read the news, but has ANY reporter publicly asked anyone on that committee: "so, you're in favor of not releasing the report and / or pursuing child rapists?".   Then wait for the answer.

No seriously, have they?

And they should just keep asking the question, because they'll continue to spin non-answers.

While I hate the idea of Ghislaine Maxwell ever getting off on her role as pimp and co-conspirator, if there were no files, that means, no evidence, which means she really shouldn't be sitting in jail.

Of course, in jail, she can't talk to any media.

I don't know if her trail was state or federal. Hoping the former so BLOTUS can never pardon her, but the Innocence Project should look into her being there on false claims if there were no files, no?

Actually, I'm somewhat surprised she hasn't "hanged herself" yet.

More than anyone though, I blame Biden. Why that motherfucker didn't release those files on the last day of his term is (somewhat") beyond me.

Oh, I know why. There are a shit ton of democrats on that list too.

I. DON'T. CARE.

I'm tired of the word 'minors' and 'pedophile' being tossed around in the media. I've said it before and will again........  if they were underage:  IT. IS. RAPE.

Truly, if the media actually SAID that and kept hammering it, I think something would break.

What I cannot for the life of me understand though is.............someone has seen and probably has a copy of this.

Where the fuck is Anonymous or Edward Snowden when you want them?

Mask

WHAT.

THE.

ACTUAL.

FUCK!

So, harming Teslas, per Pam I'm a Cunt Bondi, is terrorism.

Putting on a latex mask, having a list of victims and getting away with shooting and killing some of them is not.

I mean, it totally is, but not a fucking peep from that twat. Or anyone in the administration.

Of course not. Everyone on said list was a democrat. Taking those people out would swing the Minnesota legislature from Democratic to Republican led. There is no way this administration is going to say a word.

At this point, this guy hasn't even been charged with 1st degree murder. Just manslaughter.

Because disguising yourself, having a list, weapons and maps isn't premeditated??

As you'd expect - and suspect - he voted for BLOUS and friends are now saying he has had 'mental health challenges lately'.

....and since they captured him alive, you KNOW he's white. Didn't need a mugshot to tell me that.

But, with federal congresspeople being tackled, handcuffed and detained - and these being shot to death, this is what its like to be on this side of retribution from a candy-assed president and administration.

THIS is where we are now. It is NOT going to get better.

Rose Garden

I honestly don't know what to feel about Pappy Joe pardoning Hunter.

If I recall, Pappy Joe said he would not pardon him - and I respected him for that decision. As the Baretta theme song said, "don't do the crime if you can't do the time................don't do it".

But here he has gone and done it.  Fully and Unconditionally.

Biden was never the strongest leader, and this makes him less so. To go back on his word feeds in to every single thing the GOPers have said about him in the first place - and this kind of proves their point.

To me, on the left, I see this as no better than BLOTUS pardoning all his fuckboys at the end of his first term, and no doubt the multiple January 6ers who will have a clean slate, along with the likes of Bannon and anyone else he didn't get to let off the hook the first go-round.

....and even though BLOTUS did it first, the tagline will be, Pappy Joe let his son go free...... and that's all the MAGA'ts will hear, know and believe. Everything else will be fair game.

Pardoning Hunter undermines any credibility of the democrats being less repugnant as the republicans. Don't get me wrong, should Project 2025 come to life (and I believe it will) they will be more repugnant, but you're just gonna get 'pardoning his son' thrown back in your face.

Ok, maybe I DO know how I feel about Pappy Joe giving a pardon to Hunter.

the Beat Goes On

Just to pile on to the hypocrisy of the life of children, when it comes to the GOP and the religious right, we have to look no farther than a few states over from Alabama.

A few weeks back, though only recently reported, three girls (no, they're not women) in Oklahoma attacked and beat a non-binary student - enough so that she died the following day.

So concerned was the school on the beating, that they never called an ambulance for the child.

Let that sink in.

The grandmother of Nex Benedict took the child to the hospital. Twice. Once where they released them, and then a return visit upon where the student died.

Not only did the school not call for medical care, they didn't report the incident to police.

To be clear, it isn't unknown if Benedict died of the injuries put upon them in that school bathroom. Let me rephrase - the physical injuries. There had been multiple reports of bullying of Benedict. It wouldn't be unheard of - or even a surprise - if they took their own life due to the school circumstances. It is a scenario played out far too often for trans, gay and non-binary youth.

It doesn't help when the head of Oklahoma education is a vocal opponent of what he describes as “radical gender theory.”

I know I should do more research on some group called Libs of Tik Tok, but it sounds like a hate-filled group led by someone who was appointed by the Oklahoma education lead. Trans advocates note taht Libs of Tik Tok have an outspoken stance against transgender rights. Critics argue that the head of Oklahoma education's rhetoric and policies have contributed to an environment that enables hate crimes.

While I don't know this for sure, I would say they're also "pro-life".  That, of course, comes with one big fucking asterisk. Pro-birth, yes.  Pro-life: no!

At this point (read: two weeks after the fact) no charges have been brought against the three girls - even for assault.

I hate this fucking country. I'm sorry that Nex didn't have the life they deserved.

Turning Tide

I'm stealing today's image from the Other Brett........who is kind of just Brett now. The initial Brett is no longer blogging or even following this blog.  To be honest, I'm not sure other "Other" Brett is either.

So far, 4 of the 19 defendants in the Georgia election fraud trail have pleaded guilty with the contingency they testify at other trails.  .....that's assuming anyone is still standing by the time there area actual trial dates.

Oh, I mean, BLOTUS isn't gonna fold, because.....well.....BLOTUS.

Rudy can't. As I said before, the current Felon-elect has some kind of shit on that guy, or he'd have turned long ago.

For the life of me, I don't know (or care?) if former Chief of Staff (I think BLOTUS has like 7 of them) Mark Meadows is part of the Georgia klan (yes, with a 'k'), but he's now doing tricks for the DOJ on a Federal level.

Meadows has immunity.......contingent upon testifying at said Federal trial(s) on January 6th activity.

And fuck if Michael Cohen isn't making BLOTUS squirm at a NYC trial as we speak.

Sure, Cohen is scum, and BLOTUS bad mouths him, but he's bad-mouthed anyone who's ever been fired or quit - though he hired them originally as the "best people".  BLOTUS doesn't have a great track record and little to no intuition on staff he hires. The best people all turn out to be "losers".

Neither he, nor the media, seem to pick up on this dichotomy. I saw one interviewer tee that question up not long ago, and BLOTUS answer was something else, diverting - successfully - the guy who never ever ever ever came back to the question.

Fuck. BLOTUS may as well just said, "these are not the droids you're looking for".

I don't know about the timing, or if it matters, but the walls are crumbling. Yet, I don't think BLOTUS or the RNC give a flying fuck. Ditto with the GOP voters.

We are truly a fucked up bunch of people as a whole.

Falling Apart

It's probably too good to be true, but man oh man, I hope BLOTUS & Sons go down in flames.

I mean, if they could take their feckless cunt of a sister down with them, it would be better, but a judge let her our of the mix a year or so back.

A NY judge, for those reading this years later for historical purposes, cited fraud for the (t)Rump Organization for over inflating value to their assets, mostly real estate - including his self-named tower.

The judge effectively revoked BLOTUS' licenses to operate his NY properties — and potentially an even broader swath of the family business that BLOTUS built over the last half-century. The ruling left much of his New York operation hanging in the balance.

Oh please oh please oh please..............

I would so love to see his buildings be stripped of his name. For all his business failures - and they are many - having his real estate holdings in NY taken from him, would have to sting.

I mean, I'd love to know BLOTUS Jr and Eric got dry fucked in prison, but the start of the fall of their empire is a start.

I Don't Remember

Sorry - but would-be media whore, Cassidy Hutchinson needs to be 86'd by the media. Especially CNN which is eating up every word she says. Ditto with CBS' Face the Nation.

The Senate testimony (or was it the House?) from one-time aide to BLOTUS' Chief of Staff, Mark Meadows, reeks of excerpts of what was probably - and now certainly is - her book. Now she's making the media rounds before a host of Voter Fraud and Insurrection trials.

Honestly, BLOTUS has a good - and bad - argument for his trials. Moving venues won't change anything. States, Cities or anything (yes, though to Federal vs State court). It's hard to argue you wouldn't get a fair trial in Atlanta when everyone in the country know something about the case. There can be no full impartiality. None.

But now you taint the pool of people testifying after their book has come out. There is plenty of time to discredit the witness with whatever drivel she wrote.

Worse than that is her defense on CBS to say everything she says is true as she remembers is - which alone is gap moment. Her problem is, when she first testified, she said, "I don't know and I don't recall" more than 100 times !!!!

Honey, you already threw in reasonable doubt in the first go-round, now you have a book with tidbits and feelings more than facts. Almost nothing can be corroborated. You're giving your former boss and his boss a free pass.

I cannot believe, with the help of this twat, BLOTUS could possibly walk. It wouldn't surprise me if this was all planned for just that reason.

They're Not Laughing at Me Anymore

What a blatant pack of lies!

This is absolutely outrageous. Simply implausible.

Russel Brand is not a comedian!

He might be a lot of things - including a serial sexual assaulter, but "funny", he is not.

Mind you, nothing is funny about sexual assault, and there absolutely is nothing funny about Brand, so by Pythagoras' theory, Brand must be a sexual assaulter.

It's math, people!

Back in the early part of the last decade (I'm spitballing here), I was trapped on a plane that showed Arthur.

No no.  Not the Liza Minelli vehicle. The Jennifer (I get stuck with only shitty roles) Garner and Russel Brand as the eponymous character remake. Sir Helen Mirren (yes, I said that), played Hobson. She is the only one for whom I felt bad.

To clarify: the movie was on, I didn't really watch it, as i didn't put in headphones, but it was difficult to completely tune it out or not see it out of the corner of you eye.  Even with no sound  and my superb internal witty screenwriting skills, this stunk worse than the fish the flight attendants were serving.

I'm no fan of Katy Perry, so in a ways I was fine they latched onto each other. It saves so many other people that way.

I'm certainly not saying the women in question deserved the treatment or situations they were in, but it's Russel Fucking Brand - why were you there in the first place?  I mean.......ewwwwww.  You have eyes, right?  He's like a Weird Al reject.

Still comedians of the world should take offense that he's lumped in with them. Come to think of it, so should guys on the sex offender list.

Charged

Lord, I hate doing this, but............

I hate having his actual name in anything. For what seems like umpteen years, it's been BLOTUS to me.

The question swirling, now that 'he' has been indicted three times so far, is can he be president again. It's a valid one.  But I'll go one better.

Should anyone  - yes anyone - with major felony charges against them even be able to run for president.

Yeah yeah - I get that he hasn't been found guilty at this point, but say he wins and then is found guilty? Are we stuck with this twat?

First off IF he wins, co-conspirators 2-6 will get immediate pardons. Personally, I'm all for 'presidential pardons' to go away for all current and future office holders. If he can pardon himself, he will.

That the GOP is even entertaining backing this douche shows you how much power BLOTUS has and how little they actually do. Ditto with backbone.

How said that you're afraid of losing that you've literally given away the store and your soul. I mean, not the latter, as none of these people have them, should they exist at all.

I don't know if the charges will stick. I don't know if it matters. Timing is everything and the Mar-a-Lago judge is already delaying some of the trial, which means, the GOP is gonna let this dude do the primaries and debates.

And should anyone think he can't win again........

For all of DeSantis' grandstanding, he's still a nothing.......yet bigger than the other nothings. The ones who walk a tightrope of wanting the Right's support but can't really badmouth the leader because you won't get the support. And to call out BLOTUS would be a hypocrisy for each and everyone of those who licked the inside of his lower intestines.  .....and they all have.

Even the papers are saying Biden has shored up the democrats that weren't sure about him, but still migth not win in another election against BLOTUS.

That should make us all scared. So the justice system has to bring home one of these indictments to a conviction sooner than later.

I'm not holding my breath on any of this.

Carjack '94

This world is fucked up. It just is.

One of my employees was carjacked the other evening after getting her mother situated at the Emergency Department after having a stroke.  The employee got in her car to leave and was about a mile from the hospital. And it was not after dark.

The street is a well traveled six lane road - three each way - that is widely used. But at whatever time, two cars coordinated and boxed her in forcing her to stop. The four people, split between two cars, reached in her partially open window unlocked her door.

It wasn't enough to try to get her purse, which they did. They punched her in the face, held a gun to her head while the two teen girls yelled, "shoot her!  kill her!!".

Of course, they took her car.

But what the actual fuck???

Shoot her.  Kill her.   For a lousy $35 and a car they ended up abandoning less than an hour later?  I'd say, is that worth 25 to life?  But clearly, this isn't how folks like that think. Or care

Oh - did I say, they were all teens? Or alleged considering none of have been caught. Clearly none of them worried about the police.

As you'd imagine, she hasn't been back to work. She's trying to put on a good face, but she's rattled. And honestly, I don't know how you come back from that. Hearing your life to others meant absolutely nothing and that a gun to your head and people advocating shooting you is just horrific.

This is our current state of devolving. I'm scared for the future. The near future.

Against the Law

You know something CNN - suck. my. dick.

Your "source" is BLOTUS. You say it in your own article - just not your headline. Why? Because you know, deep down it's wrong.

Get some journalistic integrity, he is the center of the probable indictment and has everything to gain by controlling the story - and your newsfeed - like you're the vonTrapp marionettes.  And he's correct in doing it, since you're so easily manipulated.

But he is not "sources".  Your article lists only him, and even by journalistic standards, I'm assuming you know the difference between singular and plural. But then again, you did have him on your channel for an unadulterated hour of lies, boasts and, well.......lies.  All in the name of ratings, not journalism, so what the fuck do I know - because you certainly don't.

Yes, BLOTUS broke the story on his social media, like he did about his having to testify. He controls the story. He makes it out to be all lies, because the DOJ has handed the probable indictment to his lawyers and they / he gets to cherry pick shit to start to plant seeds of reasonable doubt long before any court appearance. And you rarely question it. You just report it, and people assume it's fact.

Of course, it's not just CNN that are this thirsty for "breaking news", but my fucking lord.

I'd normally say, 'yay' to the indictment - and I do - but I'm trying how (of if) this plays out with the GOP pack running for 2024.  Honestly, we might been BLOTUS to split that party so none of them win.  I mean........c'mon 107 yo Pappy Joe.

You Never Give Me Your Money

You know how I said last week that I wouldn't commit to being a victim of identity theft?  I think I can erase all doubt - you know, the way someone would like to erase my credit.

Motherfuckers.      ......and that's the nice version.

So, since that last post, I got someone applying for a $10,000 consolidation loan (yeah, because they were stealing money for me to pay off their credit card!) and two credit cards. All of them turned down, which is good.

Or is it?  I mean, my credit score is hovering at 780. How the fuck am "I" being turned down for a Discover card?  DISCOVER!  While I'm glad no one is actually getting to my credit, I think I should be a little offended that "I" can't get a card one had to go through Sears to obtain.

For those who don't know - Sears used to be a department store like JC Penny, but with a hardware.

For those who don't know - JC Penny was a department store like Montgomery Ward.

.....for those who don't know - Montgomery Ward..............   well, you get the idea.

For the bank loan - the rep was pretty nice and gave me a buttload of info. They clearly had my SSN and partial address. Oddly, the rejection letter got to me - without any 'forward' info, but it had the road name misspelled and a very very wrong zip code. She is the one who told me how much the loan request was for. They did not use my phone number, but she wouldn't tell me the area code even used on the one they had. I thought that was a weird bit of info to withhold considering everything else she gave me.

So yes, I reached out to each of the credit bureaus - one was great. one was fair. one suuuuuuuuucked.

Yes, I'm talking to YOU Equifax.

I was locked out of my log-in. While I knew my log-in and password, it did not recognize either. So much so that when I asked for a new user ID, this pops up:

Yeahhhhhhh.......that's not my email address.

Turns out 'proton' is used to encrypt any and every thing - you know when you don't want to be found. So, when you think about it - someone got in, changed my log-in and contact info. And now that I asked for a new sign-on, Experian sent that notificaiton to the perps, who now know someone is on to them.   So......yay!

It gets better.   But not in that gay teen kind of way.  Sarcastically.

None of Experian's 800 numbers - and there are many - allow you to talk to an actual human being. None. I had to do some internet searches to find any number get a person. The first guy was nice, the second guy extremely snippy - because he was the wrong department, like it was my fault I got transferred to him. The third guy - "Sebastian" was good.

I say that in quotes because it is highly doubtful there are a lot of "Sebastians" in Bangalore.

Sebastian went through all the verifications, but then it got to security questions - and lo and behold the answers were different. So someone had been in and changed the answer to my first car name and my oldest sister's middle name.

So, the case is being escalated. But clearly, Experian is the weak link of the three. I know how they got in, I'm assuming.

That said - my credit was all locked / frozen at all three credit agencies. Do smart criminals relock the info after obtaining / changing it?

The reality is, they still got my SSN from the government info that was absconded with years back. From there, they probably got into a lot of other shit.

So - no one can seemingly get to syphon off all my tens of dollars, but damn if they're not trying - and taking down my credit rating in the process. And wasting a few hours per week of being on calls and on hold.

Motherfuckers!

Identity

I'm not saying I'm a victim of identify theft, but I'm not not saying it.

A few weeks back, I got two separate letters from two different banking institutions on two different dates, that I'd been declined for a credit card.

I was a little miffed. A.  I have an excellent credit rating. B. I didn't apply for any credit card - and hadn't in I dunno - three decades. I have a debit card and an Amex. That's it.

Some years back, someone hacked into the government personnel records and took 1.5 million peoples identity - mine included.  I was a vendor for a number of government agencies, so they had my background check - including my finger prints - on electronic file.

For that inconvenience, I get a lot of years of free credit monitoring. It's been pretty stagnant until Sunday.

Oddly, the two credit card notifications didn't seem to trigger a thing, so - yay for government oversight into their own identify theft processes.

Yesterday, I got a "Welcome!" letter to my new credit union. One of which I did not join. Of course, I got the letter after getting home and naturally, the place isn't open. Blobby was cranky.   ......but not as cranky as he was about to be.

I'm not the most suave fraudster out there, but does one open an account at a credit union. "He", at leat, seems like a sensible thief.

I logged into the credit watching thingy and saw nothing. So I called. After 437 phone trees, I finally talked to a living breathing person. She said, I had activity on my JP Morgan Chase account.    ........except for the fact that I don't have one of those.

She gives me a number to that area. They had 892 phone trees - all requiring your account number, of which I do not have, because I do not have one. The circular logic when calling their fraud department astounds me.

More astounding?  What does the Fraud Dept want?   My SSN.

Fuck.  You.

And I said as much to "Eddie".  And hung up on him, after he told me I'd have to go to branch (go IN a bank??  Is it 1978?) and show them my SSN.  Then I hung up on him.

I cooled down (well, kind of) and called back and got Typhoon (you'd have to have seen Parks & Rec to get that reference).  I acquiesced and gave my SSN.  I'll paraphrase the next part:

"There are no open account - checking, savings, or credit in your profile".    Great............but......"you have a profile one me?", I says    "Just your name, address, DOB and SSN" Typhoon replied.

Ummmmm.

Blobby was immediately hyper-cranky now.

I didn't give you any of those items - how do YOU have them?   He couldn't tell me.

710 asked if I verified the info with them. I did not. I wasn't about to give them more of my info, but I get his point - if my SSN is attached to another address etc where cards might be sent, it would be good to know.

Typhoon was just like Eddie - I have to go to a physical branch to get this sorted out.

I'm beginning to think it's a ploy to force me to open an account at JP Morgan. I'm so beyond pissed.

By the time I get to the middle of this - not even the bottom - there are gonna be accounts in the Grand Cayman's with my name on it, and I'll be on the hook for every penny.

a Kind of Hush

I suppose, for historical purposes only, I have to mention BLOTUS' indicated indicted.

I'm for it, of course, but it means next to nothing. There is not going to be any jail time for this. Hell, he might plead it down to a misdemeanor.

The "man" has done far worse things, none of which has seen the inside of a court room.

Yet.

I mean, we can hope and pray, right?

But to his base, who've completely overlooked him fucking around on his wives (all of three of them); talking about grabbing women by the pussy, allegations of rape and even being attracted to his own daughter - paying a prostitute hush money to keep quiet so he could win an election is nothing.

For fuck sake, he tried to overthrow an entire government to win an election. Moving $130 big ones around is chump change.

Honestly, in retrospect, it took a very small petty man to take down an entire democracy. That will actually be his legacy. Sure, it was fragile before, but it is on life support. Now it's a big fucking DNR.

I don't really know if I am more afraid of BLOTUS getting re-elected, or DeSantis picking up and finishing the job to strangling this country.

We really need to finalize a plan that gets us out of this country for good if either of those scenarios happen.

Tax Man

It is not much, barely anything, but I'll take anything...........and have!

I am specifically talking about BLOTUS' family real estate business has been found guilty on all 17 charges of tax fraud.

There is no jail time for this. At most there is only a $1.6 million settlement.  His CFO didn't even get a hand slap, and his "key" testimony didn't implicate BLOTUS.  ......and he still has his CFO job there, so.....no real repercussions per se.

Still, it's pretty much the first thing that BLOTUS has been found guilty of, even if indirectly. It's got his fucking name all over it.

Political witch hunt will be the talking points from his re-election team and the saps with no brains to know he's noting more than a house of cards. There literally is no there there.

Let the chipping away continue. I mean, we knew it anyway - including his loyals. No tax returns have been shown, and that is because they / we / them / I / us knew they'd show inaccuracies, fraud, lack of payment, etc. Yet not showing them seemed to be ok to a lot of people. Deep down they knew the score - the problem is:  they just don't care.  Unless it was a democrat doing the exact same thing.

Maxwell's Silver Hammer

I honestly do not want to write about the would-be attack on Nancy Pelosi, and the actual attack on her husband

Pelosi is a middling politician at best and a fairly crappy Speaker of the House. That said, I don't wish harm on her.

And that makes me a hypocrite, because I'd have been ok with someone cold-cocking Paul Ryan to the point he got a TBI. The difference with me and the GOP is that I admit I'm a hypocrite.

Hopefully that is not our only difference, but.........you never know.

Isn't this attack just a redux on an individual level of January 6th?  Or the personal attacks - physical and otherwise - since BLOTUS became a candidate back in 2015?  It's just on another level.  ....and mark my words, the first of what is to become a string of them.

As 710 pointed out, next time it will just be explosives put outside their (or someone like them) house. Not even a stretch - and the FBI, with all its wisdom, has yet to find who placed two bombs at the Capitol.

We, as a nation, are closer to the verge of a civil war.

There is no stopping folks like this. And it's not like the GOP is denouncing them or their actions.

Verbal sparring got Rapist Brett Kavanaugh Congress-appointed security after his decision on Roe v Wade. He got a-scared by people protesting in front of his house or harassing the restaurants to which he patronizes. Imagine how upsetting that might be compared to sexual assault.   ....what kind of world is this when you can't order your lobster bisque in peace.

I have yet to hear Congress act on security for the Speaker. And for Kavanaugh, they approved it in like 36 hours.  You know they won't do a thing for a democrat, let alone a woman.

Every time you think this country can't get more fucked up, they prove me wrong.

My Name is Emmitt Till

I know I wrote about this almost two years ago, when the ultimate douchenozzle (it's a word!) Rand Paul held up legislation on a national anti-lynching law.

It amazed me that day, and then two years later, that we didn't have one. Or that it took 200+ years to do anything about needing one.

Yes, half-hearted attempts were applied, but you know..........nothing.

Signing the Emmitt Till anti-lynching bill doesn't make Pappy Joe better in my eyes, but at least he signed it.  I mean, these days - who knows.

I didn't even know the legislation was back on the table. I assume anyone in the GOP who voted for it were afraid of the blog image:  it might happen to them!   ....and honestly, for some of them it should.

This was first introduced - get this - 122 years ago!. And it's been up 200 times.

What. The. Actual. Fuck.

Segregation was well into the 60s, bussing by the 70s, majorly unfair sentencing law biases, and the continual police brutality against people of colour doesn't really scream for anyone at the DOJ or Congress to act on anything.

The idea that we've gone this long without legislation astounds me. I assume Congress thought that there are murder and hate laws in place that would cover such thing, but...........I don't think that people who string others up are really thinking, "ooooh, there are laws against this".

While it is deemed a national hate crime,  I cannot seem to find is how this law differs from murder laws and hate crime laws already on the books. I would like to think that punishment is more severe, but that might not be the case. Should it not be, then it is all just for show.

the Low Spark of High-Heeled Boys

I knew way back when that we had eaten at Comet Ping Pong in Washington DC.

What I seemed to have repressed was the fact that we helped fund Hillary's Sex Trafficking Ring™.

For those who might not be "in the know", Comet's is the place where Qanon and well....the GOP, which is pretty much the same thing, said that Hillary Clinton was running her child sex trafficking ring out of their basement

.....but you could get calzone too, if lil' Tyler wasn't enough to fill your palate.

I am not sure if they actually have calzone.......and I think it was determined there was no basement, just like at the Alamo.

I know you're thinking two things: 1. $378 for pizza.   And 2. those motherfuckers are cheap as hell and left no tip.

First off, it turns out we paid for 14 people! (man, I've been writing this blog wayyyyy too long.)   And we bought four MORE copies of Becky's novel.  It was a pricy trip (well, if I remember, I was in DC for work, so they paid for the flight).

I have to assume someone else agreed to pick up the tip, as we really aren't that cheap.

I suppose it's possible that HRC sent over some young uns over to our hotel afterwards, but I suspect I'd remember that.

She had gotten further if she had sent over dessert.   ....or the kid's dad.

Criminal Intent

Besides being a Grade A dick of a politician and inciter of violence to a colleague, this "man" is a fucking dentist.

Take a close look at him. Really look at that pic.

Now, imagine him putting his fingers into your mouth.  ....and paying him to do it.

........I'll leave you with that for a moment.

For what it's worth, the House voted to censure Paul Gosar. Save for taking him off two committees, it's all very meaningless.

His crime - for the record, when academics breakdown the end of civilization as documented here and there in this blog - was creating an anime style video that depicts him murdering Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and attacking President Biden.

The video shows a a character with Gosar's image wielding a sword to kill a character with the image of Ocasio-Cortez.

His "rebuke" at the censure hearing?   "no threat was intended", said he.

Even he can't stand by his own shit.  JFC dude, you made the thing and posted it, at least stand behind your actions - right or wrong. And you know it wasn't even the first draft / version. But you were a fucking pussy and deleted the video. Why? Thought it wasn't a good idea to have it in the first place?

It's not your conscience, because it's doubtful you even have one.  You're a GOP house member and dentist from Arizona.  Three strikes.....right there.

Of course, save 2-3 GOPers, none voted to censure him, so........of course they stand behind the big bad white man. Because they all think it's ok.

Liz Cheney - ugh! - voted to censure him. I hate giving her credit for anything. So did Adam Kinzinger - the only GOP guy who has balls (well, I'm guessing Liz has a pair.....literally), so of course he's not seeking re-election, so a much more conservative GOP guy - yes guy! - will take his place.

David Joyce - a 'tard from my area in Ohio - voted "present"......whatever the fuck that means. I guess Liz has won his balls in some late night poker game.

Whatever Gosar's intent, some stupid asshole would easily take up the cause to kill AOC. The GOP was SO up in arms about her dress that said 'tax the rich' but look the other way to a threat to kill.

What Gosar & Co won't expect though is, should it happen, yes, there will be glee on the Right, but they won't and don't anticipate the martyr affect. This will not work out for them in the long run. But that said, with all the gerrymandering going on in this country, the Dems won't have a chance of winning a House seat for the next 10-20 years.
