Baking with Blobby

I'm loving this haven't ingested a store-bought cookie for months thing.

I'm not sure my waistline is as appreciative, but it's not like I'm eating more cookies than I was before.

Honest.

This time up: peanut butter cookies, but with chocolate chips.

It seemed easy - and it was. And it made a fuck of a lot of cookies.

Butter - 1 C (unsalted, at room temp)
Granulated Sugar - 1 C
Brown Sugar - 1 C
Peanut Butter - 1 C (smooth)
All Purpose Flour - 2 C
Baking Soda - 1 t
Eggs - 2
Semi-Sweet Chocolate Chips - 2 C

It pretty much follows other recipes I've posted. I purposefully avoid the ones that say to chill the dough for 30-120 minutes. Instant gratification takes too long.

Whip the butter.  Done. Easy. 

Add peanut butter. sugar - white and brown. Then eggs.  

Then the sifted flour and baking soda mixture. 

Hand stir in the chocolate chips. 

As it turns out, the dough is very easy to work with. Easier than chocolate chip or M&M. 

If there was a problem, the directions said to use a 'spoonful' of dough. Ummmm....what size spoon? It kind of matters, doesn't it? 

So I used the small melon baller scoop I'd been using for chocolate chip and M&M. It was probably too small, as the recipe said made 36-40 cookies. 

As you can see here, I have 56. And I still made another 20 with remaining dough. 

Like I said, it made a fuck of a lot of cookies. 

Yet, I baked them at the suggested temp and time (350F for 14-15 min). Actually, I took them out right at 14 - and it worked wonderfully. All cookies the same size - not crisp, but not chewy. Somewhere in the middle. 


Next time maybe make them bigger or half the amount. We like them, but we will be eating peanut butter chocolate chip cookies for a long while, I suspect.

But that is a "fuck lot of cookies,' though, you know, peanut butter and all, so it's okay.
