Soul Drifter

Sometimes I don't have a thing to write about. Some days I just don't want to think about it. Today is one of those confluences - where I don't have anything or the energy to really craft anything.

Regardless of what my cousin thinks or says, I'm about 91% sure you don't want to hear about another yogi's diverticulitis or how she had / has ulcerative colitis.

Lucky you.

We, on the other hand, got to hear about it in great detail yesterday after class.

However, my friend Jack sent one of those spam-like emails that had a video of San Francisco and the Bay area in time-lapsed photography.

Jack is the king of sending those emails people used to distribute when the internets and email were new. Most of us had grown out of it, Jack revels in it still. Normally I don't even open his emails, as he's never sent me one that was an update on him, just links to other things, pictures and stories.

Why I opened this one, I don't know.

The photographer checked the weather daily for two years and would drive to the Bay area to do his camera work. The number of pictures taken, was reportedly "a gazillion", though I'm pretty sure that's not a real number (as Merriman-Webster defines it as: "a very large number").

Whatever the number of photos taken to make up this video montage, the end result is pretty impressive.

Adrift is the name of the work.
