My Music Monday

I was listening to Terri Gross the other day, as I am apt to do. She had on identical twin lesbian sisters / musicians, Tegan and Sara.

Honestly, I know them from two songs only, "Walking With a Ghost" and the wildly popular, "Everything is Awesome" from the Lego Movie.

Anyway, the gals have a new book and new music disk out. They played little music, but as always, Gross made everything sound horribly wonderful.  I've lost tons to that woman's wonderful interviewing skills.

The following day, was iTunes release day, and boom, there was Tegan and Sara's new disk, which are actually recordings of songs they've written a while back but never recorded. I sampled it for sure. I'm always searching out some new music.

A few caught my ear, but none more than, "Don't Believe the Things They Tell You (They Lie)".  That title would have never fit onto a 45 label.

I want to say the song is great, but it's not.  The first two-thirds is great.  The last part is good, just not great. But there's nothing wrong with good.
