My Music Monday

It was my month to pick the Hi-Fi Friday / My Music Monday theme.

I went with thoroughfares.  Roads. Streets. Lanes. Highways. Biways. Trails. Freeways. Turnpikes.

Just no Stairways.

Erik kind of wins this round anyway - as he gets five weeks and I only get four. This is one these months I don't really have to struggle with, except to narrow it down to four. Many months I can't find four or five selections.

It's safe to say, you won't get getting a "Baker Street" post from me. Or even a U2 (or Pet Shop Boys) post of "Where the Streets Have No Name".

I'm starting off with a road song, though not a named road per se.

I am not the biggest Springsteen fan, though the man has his moments. When he forewent the E Street Band (well, kind of) for his album the Rising, he put out a pretty good album. It dealt with post 9/11 life (in a broad - and sometimes narrower - sense).

The stand-out cut on the album, for me, that is, would be my selection, "Further On (Up the Road)".

The rhythm section is sharp, the guitars are good and Bruce's vocals are some of the best he's done.
