Normally, I can take or leave John Oliver. I found him better on Community than I did as a Senior Correspondent on the Daily Show.
So I didn't care much, one way or the other, when he got his own HBO show (Last Week Tonight with John Oliver), which sounded like a weekly version of the Daily Show.
Honestly, I've only seen one full clip, which is getting embedded here, because it was so good - so maybe I've sold him short.
It is 13 minutes long and well worth every second. You should really watch.
The subject is Net Neutrality and Oliver makes a good point as to why it is on its way to reality: the FCC wraps up so much bullshit in a boring package that no one is paying attention.
But he'll break it down for you.
I did not watch the original broadcast, but reportedly, the viewer response brought down the FCC's servers with flooded emails.
There is still time to provide input to the FCC, and it's important that people do. Not in that crazy response ways some posters insist on, but logical, well thought out responses that let the FCC know this is not to be taken lightly.
Seriously, watch all 13 minutes. It is done humourously, but it's serious business.
