My Music Monday

Well, I missed week's My Music Monday due to 12 of 12, but I'm back.

I even have a brand spanking new song for you - the album isn't even out for three more weeks.

It's been four years since Aimee Mann put out @#%&*! Smilers - a disk, which while good, I wasn't overly thrilled with compared to some of her earlier works.

I'm hoping her new disk, Charmer, is a step up.

Today's selection is the title track from that upcoming album. The song is decent, but right now I don't find it to be out of the ballpark good. But I know that sometimes it takes multiple listens to get me there...and I'm not stupid enough to think that one song will make an album bad or good.

The video, however, had / has potential.....if only for its co-star: Laura Linney.

Sure, it's no "Voices Carry", but....really............what is?

There was a time when she had so much indie cred and now she is a parody of herself. Well at least she knows the money is in the touring where middle aged men will buy over priced drinks and keep her in sullen bitterness forever. Her guest appearance on portlandia as a cleaning lady was better than this video.

I have never heard of her. I enjoyed this; thank you.

Aside from 'Til Tuesday, I'd be hard pressed to actually name any songs she did solo. Although she was in Rush's "Time Stand Still". Which is really weird I know that it was her. But I did like the video for this one.
