Dodged a bullet - didn't you all? Yeah. Yeah you did.
Around the World in a Day was Prince & the Revolution's mostly uninspired follow-up to Purple Rain. Actually the album was released only nine or so months after Purple Rain.
Not that Prince was one to repeat himself but he went a bit psychedelic with this - and it just didn't hit a lot of buttons for me, including the initial single and biggest hit from the album - which I attest was only as big because he was riding that Purple Rain rocket.
Someone likes it more than I, as almost 46 million view have happened on YouTube. It's more impressive, as Prince didn't officially have his video on the service. His estate put them on after he died......and they're making bank - even at YouTube's low rate to pay artists, it still come out to about $550,000. Not bad for a dead guy.

I have heard that there was enough recorded unreleased music in his vault to release an album a year, for a couple of decades,
The very first date I had in college was done while Mr. Prince's music was playing in the background. Whenever I hear his music I remember that encounter.
