Yet another installment in the drudgery that is everyday shopping. The camera-phone makes it a bit more fun - though I get looks whenever I take pics of products. Like I care what people think!
You know, even an old man who yells at clouds has to take a day off of yelling about SCROTUS. He didn't do anything new today.......though we shouldn't get distracted too too much by his inflammatory rhetoric. I fear he's doing something we're not seeing because of this.
So onto the Shopping post.
Sometimes I just hate cooking shows. Especially when it comes to garlic - which I love.
Whenever they cook, the garlic is pretty much always prepped for them. If not already minced or pressed, at the very least it always has the paper removed. ....and let's face it, that's the hardest part about garlic.
Yes, you can smash the clove and the paper loosens, but have save for fly paper, have you ever found anything less sticky, especially in a non-liquid food group? And in the end, your hands smell like...well....garlic.
So when we were at Blood, Bath & Beyond, I happened upon a number of devices that could help. All made of silicone. But one came in a plastic storing box. Ooooooh.
....and I am loving this Oxo garlic peeler. Loving, I say.
It's all quite simple, really.
Insert glove of garlic into silicone tube.
Apply pressure and roll said tube back and forth for maybe 10 seconds. Possibly 15.
Poof. Done. Out comes a perfectly peeled glove of garlic. Clove, singular. I tried multiple and it didn't work so well - though they were ginormous cloves.
They have come out perfect every single time. Not even a stray piece of garlic paper/peel
.....and my hands don't smell as much like garlic anymore.
Totally worth the $7.
