Does Your Mother Know

It's Mother's Day. Again.

I've got nothing against it, but I can't say I have anything for it either. It has nothing to do with loving or not loving my mother. Clearly, I do. Ok, maybe not so clearly.

Like everyone, she has her good days, or days when she is a big pain in the ass. What can I say? I'm not talking out of school - she knows she can be. And she knows it because I tell her.

Don't be too judgmental of me, she is absolutely fine telling me what a pain in the ass I am. And I am.

Today she'll get candy. Last year it was cookies, in which I got a $150 speeding ticket. No chance of that happening this year. I hope - I mean, I already picked up the candy yesterday, so unless there is time machine that takes me back, I'm in the clear.

I know candy seems lame, but there isn't a thing she needs, and her kids and grandkids will eat most of it anyway.

You can't give "stuff" to senior parents. What are they going to do with it? It has to be consumable or perishable. That leaves a few good choices: candy, restaurant meal, flowers or tickets (not for speeding). My mom gets chocolate when I'm there and flowers when I'm not.

I got a nice meal out on Friday with the husband. My son is taking me to Iron Man 2 on IMAX today. :)

I'd steal your post and pass it off as my own if it wasn't against blogger etiquet to do so. This describes my relationship with my Mom to a Tee!

Perhaps we can call it Mothers and Mother Fucker's Day, so that it can still be all about you... Not sure what candy and flowers go with that but I would buy you some chocolate covered bacon.
