My Music Monday

Erik's theme for the month: songs about madness.

He didn't specify - and I didn't ask - if it was anger or crazy. I figured, without getting clarification, I could open up the possibilities a little.

I think it's safe to say I won't be doing any Fine Young Cannibals or Heart. It seems like those would be way too easy and too expected.

I suppose I could just do a month's worth of song by Madness. Do they have a month's worth of songs? I can think of three.

I suppose I'll start off with Jamiroquai. Save for maybe a few songs on their debut album, Maroon 5 became the poor man's Jamiroquai. And don't get me wrong - it's not like I know anything by the band other than their song, this song, "Virtual Insanity".

The song is ok. Nothing more.

At the time, in 1996 (TWENTY years ago!, can you believe it?), the video was cool. It was OK Go-like, before OK Go existed.

710 makes fun of me because I can't figure out how the video works. I get the treadmill floor, until it starts going the other way. And to be honest, I haven't given it that much thought or pondered too hard to figure it all out.

I was wearing a hat like that today. I am not joking. I got some weird looks on London Underground. I should have done some dance moves to make it look right.

I always liked the video. Can't say I was a fan of the song though.
