It's Getting Better All the Time

A few people, on the side, have asked that I do a vlog entry for Dan Savage's It Gets Better campaign. The project is targeted to gay teens who are plagued by bullying and thoughts or acts of suicide.

It's not that I didn't want to do it, but I just wasn't sure what I could contribute of that would be of any substance. I finally set those concerns aside and sat down this last weekend and made a few attempts - mainly because the time with Photo Booth kept running out.

No agenda (well, kind of). No script. And a little trial and error.

But I did it. I'm not 100% thrilled with the final product, but it is probably as good as it was ever going to get, and in truth, I'm never going to be thrilled with me on video.

It's a good project and I encourage anyone with the means to participate on their blog or to post on YouTube.....or both.

Very sweet. I'm posting it on my blog, too. I love the genuine smile at the end. Thank you for doing this. You never know who needs to hear what you have to say, so just keep saying it.

Great post!

I find it of interest that we all have a unique story to tell, and yet often so much the same. Our society is changing for the better and LGBT rights are just around the corner. If this weren't so, I don't think we would be seeing such a ramping up of homophobia. Those that hate us and demonize us for being gay do so because they are fearful. We need to keep educating. We need to protect the next generation. We need to persist.

Thank you for your excellent post.
