Charlie

I know I'm a horrible person - so be it.

I was telling our little ever-friend group yesterday, I'll show as much compassion and caring about Charlie Kirk being shot as the GOP showed to the people Kyle Rittenhouse killed.

None.

Since it was a GOP lover who got shot, it won't be about mental health issues. It certainly won't be about gun issues. It will be about hate and retaliation.

So. Be. It.

710 said he thought the GOP would weaponize this event. Fine. Good even. And the fucking Dems better TRULY start doing the same thing. Holy fuck, the Dems don't even really try to introduce, let alone pass, bills on guns and violence. They bemoan. They don't even politicize it the way the GOP is about to - which is why they are where they are.

Thoughts and Prayers.

Or as the saying goes, "Hope in one hand and shit in the other. See which one fills up first!"

And they're all shits. Both sides of the aisle.

A quick look at Kirk's wiki page and his "activism" is filled with "Kirk falsely claimed......".  One after another. How he got a platform is beyond me, but as we've seen with the Right, it doesn't seem to take much. I'm not sure why the Left can't seem to truly grab onto this concept.

But if you tell the lies enough, people are eventually bound to believe you.

Here's one: I believe he's dead and I'm good with it.  Maybe Ben Shapiro will be next. Oh wait - that's not a lie. It's a wish.

The shooting was in Utah, so chances of it being a person of colour are slim to none.

Becky was hoping it wasn't a trans person - but I don't know I truly agree. I get the downside politically but honestly, how much more down can they be?  Even homeless folks can use public restrooms. Part of me is: "they're" afraid of trans people now for no real reason - fuck, let's give them a reason. Bet you start seeing gun laws aimed (no pun truly intended) at trans folks wanting to buy guns.

Kirk hated just about anything and anyone who wasn't white, male, Christian and US born.  And he was vehement about his hate. Going to Utah was hardly a stretch for white supremacy. It's the fucking whitest place on earth.

So, that someone hated him - many someones in fact - I'm fine with. I don't feel bad for is wife or his kids. Not one iota of sympathy goes their way from me. To be knowingly married to a man like that speaks as much about her character as it does his.

While I truly don't condone violence, no one in the GOP cares when it's a democratic member of anything (see multiple murders in MN earlier this summer). So that it gets one of them this time, boo-fucking-hoo.

Again, I get it. I'm a horrible guy. But so was he.  May he fucking rot in hell.

Cruel

I want to go on record that I only had one political post in March.

One.

In theory, this should make me "happy". I'm not. But it still might be keeping my depression in place, as opposed to worsening it.

Of course, I hear shit every day even without reading news. I just get so fucking frustrated.

It amazes me that anyone heading Health and Human Services is not healthcare related. Honestly, I'm not sure RFKKK Jr has held a job on his own merits - whatever those might be. It seems like he just coasts on the name. And honestly, the Kennedy name isn't that stellar should you do even the slightest research on the family.

But this. The above. UGH.

At first I sort of figured it was the Advocate just making things worse than they might be, but I did look into it and it was confirmed by a number of other sources. So it's not even a "April Fools" thing.

Remember when the GOP had a fucking meltdown when Obama "allowed" the US to get four (FOUR!!!!) Ebola cases in the U.S.?

I mean, they had a cow because he was black and needed something to smear him with, but still.......  This, like all else they're doing isn't for savings, it is for cruelty.

Now I'm rooting for Mad Cow disease, Ebola, Zika, Covid-25 (it could be a thing!) and anything else that comes our way.

You know, I might not be a nice guy, but fuck, next to these assholes, I'm Mother Fucking Theresa. (though word is she wasn't so great either.)

Granted RFKKK (yes, this is how he will now be referred to in this blog) isn't completely abolishing Infectious Diseases and HIV policy. He is cutting 20,000 jobs (btw.....has ANYONE seen the national unemployment numbers since these fucktards took office and started their purge????).  The massively cut programs - including the expertise fired from their roles - will be (allegedly) wrapped into other departments.

....except, they probably won't. It's probably just a talking point lie. Especially the gay disease part. Sorry. The gay / minority / drug addict disease part. Yeah, they're gonna fuck those.

Honestly, as this group continues on - and if I were a marksman - at this point, BLOTUS would be like 7th on my kill list.

the End is Near

It only took Adolph Hitler 54 days to dismantle German democracy. It took him 45 days to open Dachau.

It is looking like BLOTUS & Co will take less than 54 days to dismantle U.S. democracy. I'm mortified at it all and yet kind of internally laughing at any and every female and any and every Black or Hispanic persons who voted for BLOTUS.

He put it all out there for all of you to see, all in advance...........and you didn't give a fuck.  So pardon me if I don't give a fuck about you.

Compared to the U.S., Germany is quite small. So, breaking that 54 days is no small feat.

This is about the only time we should be happy our rail system sucks.

CUNT.  Bruce is a CUNT.  Yup I can call him that now.......because he is a him. The White House says so.

CUNT.

Facts

What should be a shock to none, but truth be told was still a little surprised. is that Mark Fucking Zuckerberg is going the way of X and it's fuckard owner - Elon Musk.

While the image here is LGBTQ+ specific, as it is from GLAAD, the elimination of 'fact-checking' goes far and wide that aren't just queer issues.

....BTW, Meta has updated it's "hateful conduct' policy to now allow users to say Gay and Trans people have "mental illness".

This goes beyond the reluctance to check actual facts. It provides users to actually hate. Maybe they need to rename their policy, unless it's just a roadmap for how to hate. Then it's spot on.

For the record, Meta gave $0 to Biden's inaugural committee. It did give $1,000,000 for BLOTUS'.

That is not a coincidence.

Let's be honest. Twitter / X and FB have never been really good, let alone consistent, at checking any fucking fact. But now it's fucking fair game.

For the record, Google, Apple and Amazon have each given $1M to BLOTUS as well.

It's either they are so fucking afraid of this guy, or it's "fuck it - we can freely hate now and know one can or will hold us accountable".

At this point, I'm going with the latter.

Google's mantra: "Don't Be Evil" is fucking hilarious at this point. I have to believe they laugh at this on a daily basis. Just change it already. I'm sure they can use "Fuck You!".

Maybe this will be the kick in the pants I need to just eliminate FB and IG. It's harder getting rid of Google, isn't it?  Social media is bad for my mental health, so Mark just may get me to help me help myself.

In the meantime, say whatever the fuck you want about whomever the fuck you want and post it on those platforms. It doesn't sound like they can or will do a thing about it.  Unless your Musk. When he gets butt-hurt, he banishes you from his site.

What a fucking bunch of snowflakes.

Nazi Punks Fuck Off

I'm trying to make a blog connection between Nazi's and marriage.

I am not sure I can connect those dots.

Yesterday, in my secondary city of Columbus, wannabe Nazis roamed the streets. For what purpose - who the fuck knows.

One can assume it was to exert their pretend dominance after the 2024 election. I mean, it isn't out of the question, since the majority of the country voted for a Hitler loving and Hitler inspired "president".

Morty sent us the video. My first reaction was "fuck". 710's was "cowards".

He is not incorrect.

I always have a problem with the mask wearing 4th Reich. Besides being the same group who would have fought against wearing masks during Covid, they also don't have the courage of their "convictions". Or someone else's convictions of which they're trying to emulate.

The reality of it is: they don't want their neighbors, in-laws and yes employers, to know they are fucking fascists. Jew hating, Homo hating, Black hating, Women hating men. Probably more incels than one can shake the 3" ruler with which they used to measure their almost cocks.

Of course, someone's credit card has a charge for swastika flags. You gotta figure that's a little awkward and gonna come back to bite you in the ass. I've seen enough Law & Orders

This isn't Columbus' first go-round with Nazis. They showed up at a drag-queen / library event. With these pussies, it's all about intimidation and no action. At least not until January 20th, I suppose.

Our anniversary is the day after the inauguration. I'm not sure how much we will want to celebrate at that point. I suppose we should take every opportunity, because honestly, who knows.

Our actual marriage anniversary is today.  #14.

......and that's how you get from Nazis to marriage.

You're welcome!

Only an Expert

Yes, I know it's another Laurie Anderson post.

I'd apologize, but I would't truly be sorry.

This time it is not music or performance art. It is Ms. Anderson reading an essay (of sorts) off her phone by American writer, historian and activist Rebecca Solnit in regards to the 2024 election.

We are a week in and my anger - yes, grief is long gone - still has a tight grip on me. This has been a discussion with my therapist and myself. I honestly don't know if it will go away, or as I told him, I'm not sure it want it to. Or if it can. Or should.

Part of me really wants to be able to let this go, or at least somehow compartmentalize it. I'm not sure how, even if I truly wanted it to happen.

I hear Ms. Solnit's words here. I don't disagree with them and Anderson's voice makes everything sound not just better, but rational......but once the reading is done, my core feelings of distain rise back to the top.

I get it. I'm a broken record. I just about fucking flipped when Stephen Miller was named as Deputy Chief of Staff for the new administration. Evil embodied. And that's saying something in this administration.

I post the below for some of you who are struggling, but probably in a better place than I. Here's hoping I get there.

Kill Yourself

Good!

While I have had suicide touch my life and you know, I don't advocate for it necessarily, I still say "good" for this douche,

Actually, and I think I speak for many, we thought / hoped / wished / prayed it was the guy to his left who off'd himself.

I think of that tiki torch toting twat more than I'd like. The face. The hate. The vile.

I hope that image follows him all his fucking life. Job interviews. Dates. Meeting his future in-laws. Neighbors. And yes, his kids.

Of course, he'll surround himself with folks who are as repugnant as he. The gun-toting Karen of a wife. The Aryan Nation children. But I hope work - whatever he does* - is a constant source of liability for him and whatever company might hire him.

But if the theme song from Baretta has taught us anything, it was if you can't do the time then do not do the crime.

Ironically, even Robert Blake didn't take heed with that one. Nor this torch wielding guy. He was afraid to do the time, so he took the easy way out.

Pussy.

Hell, he was afraid he might do the time. But clearly he knew he was guilty and AP and that photo made sure to let everyone on the jury know he was there and participated willingly.

Maybe the dude never saw Oz. Prison is flooded with white supremacist. He'd have been safe(r) than some of the population. But that protection comes at a price and I don't know how much vaseline costs in the prison commissary.

So, thank you D-bag #2. Save us the trial and your possible faux remorse. Save the tax payers your three-squares and a cot.  Go fucking rot in hell.

.....and take your friend with you.

*he probably has a future in tiki torch sales, if he wasn't already their top employee before this.

Shoot 'em Up

I would say I have 'no words' but I have plenty of them.

The problem is: I've said them all before. Multiple times.

Multiple scenarios. Multiple minority or marginalized groups. Zero attempts at solutions.

Zero.

It is easy to focus on the gay angle here. It's a hate crime. I get it. It is. But honestly, aren't they all?. Jews. Arabs, Gays. Blacks. Asians.Women.

You might not get the 'hate' label when you kill first graders, but you're not really winning any points there either.

In reality, school shootings are far more common than gay clubs. This isn't the way I want gay men to be more involved in gun control, but let's take a tragedy as a catalyst to some kind of solution.

Sorry - I laughed internally when I wrote that.

Not about the gays, but about the solution. One with a republican House. I mean, it's not like the Democrats did a fucking thing when they had the White House, the House AND the Senate, or even had a more even balance of SCOTUS.

No. There is no viable solution, because one will never get passed. I'm not even sure when will ever get proposed. The GOP won't - and the DNC can't. They cannot risk losing a single vote for anything, so they won't ruffle feathers and we let them not ruffle.

I somewhat get Dan Savages and others have tweet (are people still doing that?) that are anti-cop when it comes mass shootings and how gays brought down the shooter. And yes, there were many failings by law enforcement in many situations. But that's a very limited view to get a bunch of 'thumbs up' emojis.

I also think it's different being in a school, club, house, theater, synagogue when it happens versus being outside and not knowing exactly what's going on inside. Personally, I'm not BLOTUS, I wouldn't just run into the school like he said he would - assuming he could actually run. Doubtful anyone reading this would either.

And don't say, "but it's their job". Of course there is a possibility of death, but it's certainly not in the job description.

But if you were in any of those places, it's a run, hide fight situation. And that is exactly what happened. And I do think I could be part of any one of those, because let's face it, I'm fighting for my life. That it benefits others is almost a coincidence.

Yes, the GOP (DeSantis) has a role in this with their truly continual denouncement of gays and cultivating hate and dismissiveness, but no one is going to hold him to it. He's going to be the 2024 presumptive GOP nominee - so, we need to be prepared for that.

I believe: STRAIGHT WHITE MEN RULE! is his campaign slogan.

We are fucked.

This would all be so exhausting if it weren't all so predictable.

(K)Nights in White Satin

In case you weren't aware - White Supremacy is alive and thriving in the U.S.

When we bought this house two years ago, the previous owners left behind 4-5 tiki torches. At one point they were probably whimsical for a backyard evening party.  All I see are white folks in Brooks Brothers shirts marching in Charlottesville.

Of course, maybe the previous owner took them to (and brought them back from) Virginia to march through their streets to scare off the black and Jewish populations. I mean, what do we really know about our neighbors and acquaintances?

We're never using these torches.

Like clockwork, I said after the backwards fucktards got their hands on regulating women's bodies, they're coming after the 'mos.   ......and they did.

31 white nationalist pussies from all over the country gathered in northern Idaho with probable plans to riot at a Pride rally in Coeur d'Alene, the gayest named city in the state.

I call them pussies because of course, they covered their faces at time of arrest, so they wouldn't be identified. I LOVE that the Coeur d'Alene police released their mugshots, names and where they resided. They're "man enough" to take on the homos, but fragile enough to fold like a house of cards.

Still, the Patriot Front are scary as fuck.

Here's a little info from the Anti-Defamation League:

  • members maintain that their ancestors conquered America and bequeathed it to them, and no one else
  • Patriot Front justifies its ideology of hate and intolerance under the guise of preserving the ethnic and cultural origins of its members' European ancestors.
  • An African may have lived, worked, and even been classed as a citizen in America for centuries, yet he is not American. He is, as he likely prefers to be labeled, an African in America
  • A central tactic to Patriot Front is 'flash demonstrations' -- privately planned and unannounced events that allow groups to promote their beliefs while limiting the risk of individual exposure, negative media coverage, arrests and public backlash

Oh - and now the police department are getting death threats for arresting the dipshits. That was just a matter of time, and only a little while longer before one of these groups acts upon that.

This country sucks.

And just to fuck with them, here they are, and I'm linking to their arrest records with their names for all to see for years to come.  Or until I end this blog.  Neanderthals, all.

Who We Are

I'd like to say "I don't know what to think", but in reality, I've made the conscious decision not to know.

Here it is, 24 hours since I drafted my last post and I know very little more than I did the prior evening.

News has not been turned on, at least while I've been home. NPR doesn't play on my XM radio. I've avoided Facebook, the newspaper and people in general. Even yesterday, I went to my secondary office where there are very few people in the building - and I shut and locked my door.

I have gotten texts here and there, so I know - or think I know - things.

I have nothing to base this on, but I think - think! - my lack of knowledge and my angst is less stressful than my reading / watching everything and my angst.

I think these last four years has proved that ignorance is bliss.  All those dumb fucks seems ok with their choices.

Should, by some weird miracle, Pappy Joe pull out the presidency, it will be by the hair of our chinny chin chins. And without the Senate, he'll be forced to be a do-nothing president, though I firmly approve him doing nothing by writing 2,091 Executive Orders to by-pass those motherfuckers.

....but I'm getting ahead of myself.......and doing some wishful thinking, which I can't / shouldn't.

But IF he should win, that hair / chin situation has shown us that roughly 50% of this country is absolutely fine with being and supporting a racist, homophobic, anti-semitic, misogynistic, science-denying liar and thief.

I would kind of - but just kind of - give it to the voting public that they might not have known ALL of that in 2016, but they do now...........and it didn't matter in the slightest.

So we, can no longer say, "we're not like that as a country".............because clearly, we are.

Sure it's a blanket statement, but this is now what our country represents and how it is represented.

With or without BLOTUS at the helm, this is who we are. We've been unveiled as a country of hate. And to be fair, the haters have made me hate. It's not pretty and I'm not proud of it - but it just is.

How, or if, we come back from this perception and reality is well beyond me. If it can be rectified, it won't be in my lifetime. I don't think it can be in that amount of time. If ever.

Getting Away With It

I am kind of sick to my stomach yesterday, and probably into today.

It's a virus that cannot be cured: BLOTUS & CO.  I have another day of my stomach in knots.

William Barr is the Himmler to BLOTUS' Hitler.
Whomever is now running the Voice of America is the new Göring.
If the Third Reich had a government oversight department, whomever that was would have been any number of

Yes, I've pushed this theory of the US becoming Nazi Germany since November 2016, and maybe you roll your eyes at me, maybe not. But take a look. We are here. It's no longer coming.

It. Is. Here.

For months (or longer), Barr has been undermining the entire DOJ. Meddling in cases and sentencing. And now firing prosecutors. I don't see or hear him doing in this in any cases that do NOT involve BLOTUS.

The firing of the NY prosecutor who was looking into Rudy G is the latest. But he's looking at letting some Russians who were being looked at via Mueller to take off the hook. Let's not forget the Roger Stone sentencing guidelines, which he tried to manipulate until the prosecutors walked off the job.

Of course, he has his fingers in FBI shit too, so.......look out there.

As for the VOA thing. There is some new person in there. Whomever didn't quit at her appointment was fired anyways. So...........now they got the propaganda thing down with state media.  YAY!

And in a span of six weeks, BLOUTS has fired five IGs in Intelligence, Transportation, Defense, Health & Human Services and State.  There are were the guys who, you know, pointed out when their government agencies were doing wrong. Now there is none.

But let's take it further, shall we:

You've probably read about the Georgia polling places for their primary?  Nonfunctioning voting machines, mostly in minority areas, people waiting 4-5 hours to vote. And the number of sites were limited too. Sure, they can claim 'coronavirus' concerns, but that doesn't hold water in a state that opened back up first. You can eat and get your hair done, but you can't vote?   Bullshit.

Kentucky is up next. And it is worse:  Once with 3,700 polling places...........they are going to fewer than 200.

Read that above paragraph again.   And then again.

Yes, they do not want you to vote.

Last week, folks in Kentucky waited over EIGHT HOURS in unemployment lines. Their residents are struggling horribly, and Mitch & Co know it. But he's up for re-election, so...........

Yet I don't think anyone is running against him in the primary, but they're setting the tone for November.

Now, I'm not 100% sure that a November election will even be had. By that time, the SS will be fully in place.

Oh yes - let's touch on that, shall we?

The title image. I shit you not, was tried as a symbol for a 2020 BLOTUS ad (the left side of the image). Allegedly concocted by Stephen Miller (oddly, that part isn't a surprise).  Facebook actually banned the ad as promoting hate.

I mean, WTF?

So the GOP isn't even trying to hide it. Yes, the GOP. You can say it was BLOTUS and not the party, but anymore they are completely inseparable. But it was a test balloon, no?  It was: what exactly CAN we get away with?

Guess what: they've already gotten away with it.

Leviticus: Faggot

Welcome to Hatesville, USA : population far too many to count.

Even the 2020 census isn't capturing that locale.

But you can count on MICHAEL DREWER from Loveland, CO to step-up the hate game.

Oh yes, I'm highlighting this douche. I mean, he highlighted himself, so I'm just helping spread the word on what a dick he is.

For those unaware, the governor of Colorado is Jared Polis, a gay man. The only out gay governor. The 'faggot' who is purposefully closed down Baby Drewer's gym. So you know - name calling!

First off, you know MICHAEL DREWER, doesn't wipe off any machine or weight before or after using it.

It is my hope and dream (I don't go big), that every gym in the area surrounding Loveland, CO sees this, or Twitter, or any number of places, and cancels his membership or bans him for life.  Ditto with any place of employment.

I do these things so you don't have to - but do not go search out his Facebook page. Filled with hate, patriotism, racism and one for 'help the dying children'.  No offense to those kids, but if this is the guy fighting for you, it's better off you just croak.

Secondly, the confederate flag shirt?

Bitch, please. I know they probably didn't cover this in your GED class (should you have gotten that far), but Colorado didn't become a state until after the Civl War, and even as a territory they supported the Union. Oh - AND THEY LOST! ......a 155 years ago.  GET THE FUCK OVER IT.

Oh - what the fuck am I saying?  Facts and logic mean nothing to the MICHAEL DREWER's of the world.

I hope his actions do have consequences. Should they, MICHAEL DREWER is only going to blame Governor Faggot for his troubles.

And you know when the gyms open, the patrons will be required to where masks - which no doubt, MICHAEL DREWER will balk at the idea and say it's his constitutional right not to wear one (someone PLEASE show me where that is in that document!) and that he's discriminated against.

But here is what Mikey and his cohort don't truly get. In 2018 SCOTUS ruled for a baker who refused to make a cake for some other faggots who are not governor. So.....riddle me this.....how is this different if he's turned away for not wearing a mask?

Oh sure, say it's 'religious beliefs' is that difference. But since people cherry-pick from the bible all the time, find a passage - ANY passage - and apply it to why Mr. Twinklenuts can't step foot in the gym without a mask.  SCOTUS has you covered on that.

I am so disappointed with humanity.

Racism

Just to recap on my Roseanne post yesterday:

  • Barr didn't leave Twitter.  Called it.
  • BLOTUS' weighed-in.....and it's all about him. Shocking!   Called it.

Her Ambien excuse was hysterical. Ambien's response was better.

Sounds like Roseanne went on a Twitter tear, reaming out many of her (ex) cast members who were appalled by her rants. She didn't appreciate that. Apparently to work with her, you have to agree with her shit too.

Oh - and her talent agency canned her ass too.

I did make the mistake of reading some of her supporters shit.  Do. Not. Do. That.

They're talking about all this fall-out from "one offensive comment".   Really!

Do you think Barr knows she wasn't really talking about Jarret's "looks" with a Planet of the Apes comment? It has zero to do with 'looks'.   These are the same primate comments that other right-wingers used for the Obamas.   ....but it's standard and accepted behaviour now.

Yes, she lost her job. She'll get another gig and faster that Kathy Griffin did after cutting off BLOTUS' head.  It only took the Dixie Chicks 13 years to have a sold out concert series after saying they were 'embarrassed' by the President. No name-calling. Nothing vulgar. Nothing racist.  ....and yet they're still not back on radio.  .....but "liberals" are the ones pushing the agenda with ABC and cancelling the series.  {sigh}

This folks, is how hypocrisy works.

Racism

I was going to make this image smaller just so text would wrap around it more cleanly.  But then I thought - 'no'.

I should make it bigger. It should be projected on any and every building that exists.

During the 2016 campaign, it could be argued that Dump was flirting with racism. Testing the waters....if you will.

Oh don't get me wrong, I called him a racist back then, but that was more of a gut feeling. As the shyster that he is, I thought, "welllll......maybe he's just building a base"

And he did.  And if you build it, it WILL come.

SCROTUS IS A RACIST.

And if you voted for him, and / or support him, you are too.

You can say you're not, but you are. If A=B and A=C, then B=C.

His pardoning of Joe Arpaio is another stitch to his white hood, to go along with the robe he had made for Charlottesville.

This is pardon is problematic for any number of reasons. The most obvious is that Arpaio is a racist - plain and simple - and he was convicted of violating the civil rights of non-whites.  ....and that is for which he was pardoned.

This is on the heals heels of Virginia. Dump can attempt to rewrite history by ignoring and leaving out parts of what he said, but he said it.......in print.

The other problem with the pardon is:  the pardon.

Before, it was just suspect that he might use it proactively.....mostly for his friends, supporters and family. I have no doubt he will indiscriminately use that power to let sooooo many off the hook.

I hate him.

I just saw video of Shrub being interviewed about Katrina years after the fact. Sure I hate / hated him too, but I'll give him this, he admitted he was wrong.

Those are words you'll never hear from Dump.

....still, do not let this distract you from Russia and all the other shit he's doing.

Little too Late

So - Dump finally said the words "KKK", "neo-Nazis" and "white supremacists"

He called them 'repugnant'.  What you didn't see was his hand behind his back with his fingers crossed.

As I've said before - and as Ms. Benatar has sung - "it's a little too little, it's a little too late".

I'll be honest, I thought SCROTUS would stand his ground and not be bullied into saying what people criticized him for not verbalizing. I suppose his new Chief of Staff has some sway with him. That said - he's insincere and I know of no one buying a word of it.........or even a syllable.

I remain deeply disturbed over the weekend events in Charlottesville.

In certain ways, I've expounded on this is what we were becoming, true to thinking it would and could happen. Yet, when it did, I think even I was surprised. Or was it shocked?  Or both?

The protests and the violence were not unexpected. The almost lack of law enforcement was.

There have been far less attended rallies than this in the last 3-4 years. There have been far more peaceful protests where there have been many many more arrests. So one of my takeaways was that there can be armed white men with torches, spewing hate to whom almost nothing happens to legally. But if you're a silent protester of colour, well..............good luck with that.

That actions speak louder than words was deafening. That is what white privilege looks like - in case you were wondering.

But this goes so far beyond race. I was reading a friend's FB feed where he rightfully called out anyone who was a Dump supporter was a white supremacist. He went on to say that if you voted for him for other reasons - immigration, healthcare, economy - you still knew what the possibility for what you were signing on for.  (I even said during the election that you might not be a racist but you have to be ok with knowing you are supporting one.)

I was surprised how many Dump voters Scott knew. One of them saying it was such a small faction of people - less than 100,000 probably, by his estimation - that acted this way and in the big scheme of things amounted to nothing.

....so for my 3,491st Hitler / Nazi /Dump reference in this blog:  O.M.F.G. Asstwats (it's a new word), like this actually think the Nazi party was just 'there' and that it didn't grow from a grassroots effort. Or that the police who allowed it became the Gestapo.

Yes, maybe running down people isn't taking them to the gas chambers, but you know, you gotta start somewhere. If you haven't seen the "alt-right" messaging on the woman who was killed, I beg you NOT to look. It is more horrific than running her down with a car.

It all resonates on so many levels. As much as I'd love to lay this all at Dump's feet, clearly even he isn't enough of a leader to bring this kind of change - albeit, horrific change - in such a short time frame. He'd love to tell you he could do this - but we've seen his talents, and getting people to go along ain't one of 'em.

He did give the power for others to hate. He's made that clear, though he'd be the second to deny it - right after that talking cow, Huckabee-wannabee, would be the first.

My only slight uplifting thing that is coming from this is the facial recognition software and social media identification that people are doing to these asstwats (trademark pending) who attended.  Yes, the protesters had a right to free speech - I'm not taking that away from them. But loving the people who are using free speech to find them, and let their families and employers know what they've raised and hired.  One of those pushing back saying: "I'm not the angry racist you see in the photo".

There is a problem with that sentence of course. Is he not in the photo? Is he not angry? Is he not a racist?  I'm going with the middle one.....except that he's totally angry.

There is a problem not just for the homos when it comes to 33 states being able to fire you without cause. These shits can - and some have - been canned. Here's hoping they go to the central valley of California forced to pick crops, because they can't find other employment and well you know, they wanted immigrants out.

I feel better venting this, but the darkness will return. I'd say I honestly know what to expect next, but I think we all do.

I Hate Love

I'd be lying if I said "I never expected a rebound effect from the Obergefell ruling".

I would be lying if I said I thought it would come so swiftly and so harsh.

But it has, and they have - and in all the places you'd expect - one of the Carolinas (in truth, I would have thought South Carolina to pick it up before the Northern side) and Mississippi. Neither of them are shockers.

In theory, I'd like to think North Carolina is more progressive - they have Charlotte, the research triangle and Ashville. But I suppose that's not enough to keep the deep-seeded hill folk from showing their fear and hate. Of course, I mean the state reps.

I have friends in NC. Some of them gay, some not. Some are religious but not that narrow. At least that is what I'd like to believe of them. I would hate to see their livelihood suffer because of a bunch of asshats. But on the other hand, the state as a whole should suffer. They didn't discriminate on who'd they'd discriminate against, so if they as a whole make a few suffer, a few should make all the state population suffer.

Unfair is unfair.

To be honest, I don't even think the state legislature or the governor realize what they crafted and signed into law, respectively.

Under their transgender bathroom law, Caitlyn Jenner is required to use the men’s room, among guys not used to seeing dresses and pumps in the stalls. Likewise, a transgender man with broad shoulders and a beard will be relieving himself alongside women who may not realize he was born with a vagina.

Aerosmith never sang a song called "Lady Looks Like a Dude".  It is much harder to make a rhyme with that.

Maybe Ally McBeal had it right a decade and a half ago. Everyone in the office used the same restroom - often at the same time.

Back to the state's punishment:  Normally I might say 'big deal' to 400 PayPal jobs. But it is a big deal. Besides the taxable revenue, they'll lose the income those folks would have spent on housing, transportation, food and entertainment.

But not ALL entertainment. Because the guy, Stephen Schwartz, who holds the rights to Wicked!, Pippin and others, has just nixed the idea of any of his productions to be licensed or shown in the state.

And somewhere, those big bouffanted southern women who've only seen Wicked!  79 times are having a conniption that it won't be 80, without going out of state. They never think about the nancy-boy choreographers and costume designers behind the production. Or the dykes who construct the sets. Without - they wouldn't have that play to go to. Don't even get me started on the touring production of Victor / Victoria.  My heavens, they'd need the smelling salts!

Ruckiry (not Jon's boss), PayPal isn't the only one potentially not doing business. I say, give it to 'em where it hurts - the pocket book.

Mississippi probably isn't going to feel that financial repercussion. What industry could even possibly leave the state - chitlin production?

It's all very sad. It really comes down to fear and education - or lack of the latter. But you can't teach folks who don't want to be taught.

As for us?  Well our summer vacay was coming down to Maine or the Outer Banks. It's been years since we've been to OBX, but this won't be the year. When the place we stay emailed us about our plans, we told them we would not be coming and why.

One would like to think that you'd get a response back saying, "that's a shame and we don't believe in the law either.....", but such a reply never came.

I think we made the right decision.

I Predict a Riot

When Cleveburgh got the 2016 GOP convention, I groaned. Why would I want the likes of Matt Drudge, Ann Coulter and probable nominee, Jeb Bush roaming around our town - - I thought back in 2014.

Then about a month ago, I thought - - of fuck, this shit storm will be fun. I figured there'd be a coup for the nomination and it would be anarchy.

Now?

Well....now I'm just hoping the city doesn't go up in flames. Literally.

What the fuck is wrong that almost every single (t)Rump rally ends in violence. Or begins in violence. And during......in violence.

The media covers it, of course, yet no one does a fucking thing about it - law enforcement, the GOP or (t)Rump himself. He's for it, actually. And even {allegedly} paying the legal fees of a guy who sucker-punched at black guy at a rally (though he denies saying it, even though it's on video...which is a total Palin move). And security / police tackled and restrained the black guy who was hit. The white assaulter just walked away - only to be arrested after video came out showing the cops did nothing.

I mean, I shouldn't even be writing this. Donny wants to change the libel laws so if anyone writes anything bad about him, he can sue and win. Because right now, he can't win, so naturally he wants to make things go his way.

What a fucking cry-baby. He better hope he never gets to the Oval Office......I mean, how dare anyone say anything pseudo-libelous about the President?   {yes, I'm totally making fun of Donny himself, with his constant attacks on Obama's citizenship.}

Still, the convention.

What a shit storm this is going to be. We had once considered renting out our house and leaving town. Now with the imbeciles who inhabit the GOP - which are totally different that their usual imbeciles - our house would be trashed with them blaming us for letting them stay there. And on some fucked-up level, they'd probably win.

With all this violence, how is Cleveland going to get out of this convention without a riot.....or three? Chicago 1968 is going to seem like a cakewalk compared to what is coming.

Weeks ago, I smirked at the Cleveland Police Department requesting armored and riot gear for this White Supremacy Shindig, but it is clear they are going to need it and so much more. Whatever strides Cleveland has made in the last 7-8 years has been thwarted by the Tamir Rice shooting (regardless on which side you come down on that), the Michael Brelo case (regardless of which side you come down on that) and the upcoming GOP convention.

Hate will spill out into the streets. The improvements we've made to the city will be shattered and burned. Literally.

I don't even know why the fuck there is a traditional convention. Just do away with it and have a cage match and a mixed martial arts ring. I mean, this is the level at which we have arrived.

People can make all the comparisons they want to Hitler and Trump - and some of them are indeed valid. But Hitler took years to get to where he wanted to go. Trump has taken only months. Think about that. Hilter was a novice compared to this putz.

If you are truly not afraid - - you fucking should be.

I am.

Indiana Wants Me

Well, except that they don't.

But it is unclear who they want. And it is unclear who in Indiana, other than the legislature and the Governor's office, wants this chance to discriminate.

Of course, the gov says he'd never think about legalizing discrimination, but I'm not sure you can call it anything else.

Religious Freedom.

Bull-fucking-shit.

I mean, I suppose that is well and good, if it is held to certain regulated standards across the board. But it isn't and it wouldn't be anyways.

At least be honest about it: they mean Christians.

They don't mean Jewish religious freedom and they most certainly do not mean Muslim or Islamic religious freedom. It's like the folks who want religion in school - but only their religion.

And let's be honest about it: while the gays are the ones up in arms, in reality, others should be too. That bakery you want for your second wedding: are you saying you've been divorced???  Sorry, can't serve you.

You're wearing two different kinds of threads at the same time:  GET OUT!!!!!

You're name is Feinberg??  Nooooo...........You'll want the Rosencrantz florist, in the "other part" of town.

But if we are still going with honesty - and we only kind of are - proprietors don't ask the questions of seemingly straight couples on their co-habitation, divorce, church-going behaviours. They just don't. They won't be discriminated against......but just for lack of a store owner being lazy........and wanting the revenue.

However, two same sex folks walking in......and all bets are off. Or people who look like Marcus Bachmann Lyle, the effeminate heterosexual are kind of screwed too.....and not in that good way.

I know that gays co-opt the likes of the civil rights fight of the 50s and 60s, but really, is it such a stretch for the governor to replace 'gay' with 'black' to think "yeahhhhhh.....maybe we shouldn't be doing this...."

In his mind, this is not discrimination. Until....................a Christian walks into a Jewish or Islamic owned business and is denied service based on 'religious freedom'.

As someone pointed out regarding Christian beliefs: "some people don't want part of your religion. that's called 'religious freedom', not a 'war on Christmas'".

No longer can folks in Indiana (or Fox News) have that argument. Well....Indiana and 19 other states. Of course they will still make those claims.

I say great to Salesforce for taking a stand, though it is unclear how much business they do in Indiana. I say great to Angie's List who says they won't expand by $40M in Indiana by 2020 as they had planned (though the cynical side of me says their business model showed failure on that part and this was an easy way of backing out of that). And great to all the cities who said there will be no official business travel to Indiana (though all have caveats of 'except for 'emergency situations' - though no one has explained what one of those might be).

Pats on the back to the conventions who claim to be abandoning their plans to host in the state and robbing Indiana of upwards of $100M due to this bill being passed and signed. I'm hoping they actually follow through.

I say boo the NCAA. Based in Indianapolis their statement claimed to be worried about having an inclusive environment, but their statement really lies here:  "Moving forward, we intend to closely examine the implications of this bill and how it might affect future events as well as our workforce."

So.....they will consider considering.....something?

While we should be happy with any support we get in this fight, I say to Ashton Kutcher......"who gives a fuck what you think.....you're Ashton Kutcher".

All of this behaviour adds to my overall unrest - political and otherwise. I can't tell if the world is becoming much more intolerant in a quicker period of time, or if my fuse is just at its end. Or both.

I guess it's a good thing I don't have a German pilot's license.

What?  Too soon???

Hateful Hate

So, I was chatting with my friend Geoffrey the other day.

Yes, he's gay. His name is not Jeff (probably straight) or Jeffrey (could go either way). With "Geoffrey" you really have no choice: Gay!

Anyway, he innocently asked me when Skeletor (aka Jan Brewer) would be signing or vetoing the AZ Hate Bill*.  After my initial answer of, she had until this Friday (I think 5 business days?), my / our conversation kind of spiraled downwards. I started getting my panties in a wad.

I confessed something to him that I had been thinking but had not said out loud:

I hope Brewer signs and approves the bill.

There. I said it.

Honestly, I don't think Brewer will sign it, but honestly, I think she wants to but is in quite a pickle with all the coverage this has gotten and the businesses that are seemingly putting up a stink.

...and that is the problem.

If she vetoes it and it seemingly all goes away. Except that it doesn't.

The hate is there but it is now masked. It was always there, it was always slightly masked, but fuck, if it doesn't go through, those lawmakers who wanted it can not only say: "well, she was weak.....and now that I'm running for Governor.....this is what I'd do...."

But fuck it Arizona. Own up to your hate. Because that is what it is: hate.  You are racist and homophobic and have shown it time and time again over the last few years.   ...and yes, I'm generalizing a bit, but not when it comes to state politics.

Two (or is it now three?) state senators who voted for the bill are now asking for Brewer to veto. One even having the nerve to say he has gay friends and wouldn't want them hurt, you know, but he put "yes" in the vote column.  So we have three hypocrites trying to save their skin.

And McCain wants it vetoed.  Like anyone gives a fuck what that man wants. I was hoping the Hanoi Hilton would still have his room ready.

Don't get me started on what Mittens wants. Srsly, if even he wants it vetoed, we should rethink whether we, the gays, want the same thing.

Anderson Cooper, who is in my opinion a so-so journalist (but a fairly decent human being), really kind of stepped up to the plate with an interview with Al Melvin who co-sponsored (or wrote?) the bill in question.

Cooper doesn't let up - which I love. He succinctly gets his points across, though Melvin is either ignoring him or mentally deficient enough to understand the points being made. I kind of felt sorry for him being so ignorant of the facts - not even the hypotheticals - that he'll probably be a shoe-in for the governorship in the next election.

It's worthy 10 minute viewing.

Of course I laughed and laughed (inside, where it counts) when Melvin has the audacity to say that there is no discrimination in Arizona. None.

Melvin says he knows no one would discriminate against anyone who is divorced or an unwed mother - but does anyone have his voting record, especially on sex education in school, planned parenthood, WIC, food stamps, Medicaid, etc?

He might want to look past his white, gated community and ask some of the locals who are not members of his church or on his staff what they think of that.

But of course, if Melvin is right and there is no discrimination in the state, why draft the law at all?

The one thing Cooper does fail to call him out for, and it's not until further into the interview, is Melvin calling it protecting religious freedom.

Cooper for the most part takes the broader road giving examples of anything that isn't gay-related, when Melvin finally does trip up (?) and say (at the 7:15 mark) that Arizona and the country are under attack - and......wait for it.........by advocates of same sex marriage.

While Cooper notes that there are no laws on the books about not allowing discrimination of gays, nor any pending change in the anti-same sex laws in Arizona, why so much effort - and why now.  But he doesn't take it that step further and nail Melvin for saying it's not about religious freedom, it's about singling out a certain population that can be discriminated against.  Period.

But you know - Arizona (and possibly Georgia) will have to own up to their own hate. Their own non-Jesus-like behaviour, which they flaunt when it fucking suits them.  So put it into law - go ahead. You won't see a dime of my money. I'd even drive around the state if need be. Hopefully the businesses claiming the bill should be vetoed will act (i.e. move) if the bill is signed.

If they don't, we have another issue on our hands: regardless of party, politicians cater to big business. If businesses are weak and only feign indignation but do nothing, politicians will have an easier time passing these laws in other states.

And a sad, simple fact is that if business pressures Brewer to veto, then it becomes about money - but the hate of the state still remains. It's just that money trumps hate.....for the time being, anyways.

The reality is - if Brewer vetoes, she's only lying....to herself, to her state and to all who watch her. She is the representative of the state and we already know she's a shrew.  ...and I'm being nice.

But if you want to be hateful, then go for it. At least we know for sure what we're dealing with - but don't put it under the guise of religion since clearly you know nothing about love, tolerance and forgiveness.
