It's here. My precious!

I pre-ordered the damn thing on day #2 and there was a frickin' four week wait to get it. What's that about?

But two days ago, my Apple iPhone 4G arrived. Hot and black - just like my men.

Of course, after I ordered it, I immediately regretted not getting white. You always want what you don't have - to paraphrase Sinéad O'Connor. The grass is always greener, yada yada yada.

As it turns out, before I opened the box, I swung by Apple to view a white one. They didn't even have any for display. One of the guys said they haven't manufactured them yet and they didn't think they'd get them until mid-August. Bullshit on that. I was keeping the black. They say you never go back. We'll see. We'll see.

I haven't tried the phone so I don't know if there are reception problems yet. I do like the size, weight and distribution of the actual device - and it is purdy!!!! And fast too. Just like its owner (I thought I'd say it before you all did.)

I would have set it up that night, but I had way to much going on to bother with it. I also had some backing up of the old phone and data to worry about before I transferred everything.

The change-over couldn't be easier. The synching went off without a hitch. All music, photos and apps moved over in a good clip. I was surprised how quickly stuff moved and restored.

Of course, I had to try out the video application. Without a tutorial or anything, it took me seconds to video something and upload it to YouTube. Ok, seconds to film and a minute or so to upload. And much longer to write this post.



Yeah, the video was nothing. A throwaway for sure, but I wasn't prepared to do my new vlog via my iPhone. Some day, sure, but not today.

So I'm curious to try FaceTime. The Compass can wait a bit, I suppose.

Anyhoo, I'm up and running. So far so good.
