Legs

Well, yesterday's post was apparently bleak enough to gather no comments. It's all good. As I said a while ago, now and then I'll pepper this blog with accounts of my mental journey. They're really for no one else other than myself for historical purposes, I suppose.

How about some lighter fare today?

I don't know if anyone saw Tara Davis-Woodhall win the women's long jump in Paris a week or two back.

A lot of camera work was as much on her husband in the stands as it was on the athlete herself.

This post is not to cast dispersions on the coverage and how it was handled, but I don't believe they focused as much on female spectators when it is a male doing the same sport. I could be wrong.

But the excitement you see from both (look up) shows their joy. It was great to see. There is video out there of her husband just inspired by her. But he was also not really jumping up and down like you'd imagine.

Clearly, I missed the additional part of this tale too.  Her husband. I did not realize Hunter Woodhall was also an athlete.

And a para-athlete at that.

I guess jumping up and down in the stands is probably not easily on the docket for him.

Still, the support they had for each other at the games was inspiring to say the least.

And I'm just assuming he won't shoot her through the bathroom door.  But one can never really know for sure.

I co-trained with a woman who uses a wheelchair, she was married to a man, her friends called him "Legs."
