Dog New Tricks

Hey cat lovers....I'm apologizing in advance. There are no Sophie pictures today. It's a puppy-centric day.  In a minute, you'll totally see why.

Shep at daycare on his birthday last week.
He refused to wear the b-day hat, so they made him their Instagram Cover Dog of the Week!
I can say I knew him when.......

Lord, that tongue.
Shep was majorly stressed out at his vet wellness visit. Shook and cowered most of the time. Poor guy.

New(er) neighbor, Dusty.
Dusty is a little timid with loud noises and other dogs. Shep can be both those things.
This meeting went so-so......at best.

Introducing: Bailey !!!

Not ours, but my sister's new 10 week old (well 11 now), Corgi.  Totes adorbs....obvi.

And she's smart enough when it's hot to just sleep on the a/c vent.  ...and those ears!!!!

We brought the treat for Boomer (not pictured).  She took it and walked away with it.

We will end with Shep.
Now and again, he remembers I'm on the other end of the leash and gets SO excited.
I love seeing him like this.

I wonder if dogs ever bite their tongues like we do in an 'Ouch' moment. That hanging piece of live flesh looks ever so vulnerable between sharp gnashers. I don't recall having heard of a dog going to the vets having bitten its tongue. Perhaps they draw it in first as a reflex action (I hope).

Comforting to see Shep happy in his checking out that you're still there at the end of his leash and, as pack-leader, you haven't deserted him - and never would. (Unthinkable!)

And what a cuddly little peach is Bailey! - Very!

Shep's tongue matches his long elegant tail. That dog has the most beautiful markings!
I agree with the Bailey cuteness factor. I don't like the looks of full grown Corgis but the puppies are adorable! I suppose the same can be said of humans, only the other way around :)
