My Music Monday

I'm going out on a limb here and assume that no one but Dith who reads my blog has heard of the Be Good Tanyas.

Can we just all agree on that?

Traditional music you could call it. Not quite country. Not quite bluegrass (somewhere, my cousin David is cringing!). Not quite plain folk. It's a nice mixture for the Canadian trio.

I first (and only) heard "The Little Birds" on MuchMusic, Canada's answer to MTV - and way cooler, at that. Of course, they never quite broke big here in the States. I don't think they broke big in Canada either. Admittedly, I never purchased one of their disks but downloaded some stuff off - wait for it - Napster! When Napster was Napster and not a pay site, but just pure file sharing. ....or stealing, if you believe the RIAA.

Granted, I know this music isn't for everyone, but I am not sure you can deny their talent for harmony. But check it out, you might like them.

I like a good harmony; they have lovely voices.
