Fast Car

Hey, someone got a new car. But it wasn't me.

Denton got a "new" car this weekend. Yesterday, actually. It's not new new, but certified pre-owned. Or at least pre-owned. I assume it is certified.

It's pretty, no? A two-door is different for us, but it's not like we have to get our kids in and out of the back seat. And it's not my car, so it's not my yay or nay to have that say.

The seats are comfortable with lots of lumbar support for our aging backs. It has nice little seat extenders that would be great to fit under our thighs for longer trips.

I think the only upgrade Denton did was to have satellite radio installed. It's nice, but just a car accident waiting to happen while you try to maneuver through the stations. I'm sure it will be better after he configures his pre-sets. It's not like we want to hear the all-Frank Sinatra, Willie Nelson or Springsteen all-the-time stations. There is a cool station for people of my age/generation - lots of vintage Squeeze, Tears for Fears, Big Country and the likes. Other than that, it's just radio to me.

And yes, it's fast. I don't know it is as fast as his now traded-in BMW, but that had lots of herky-jerky motion that would leave me with whiplash at times. German engineering over the last decade has helped that problem, it would seem.

Of course, now I have car fever. Damn!

I knew Denton must have an alternative identity as well.

BTW, I think Denton is more the Gary Numan type, certainly not Traci Chapman or are you taunting us miserable women this month.
