G-d I hate this administration!!!! I know - you've all fallen off your chairs with surprise.

Shrub and his cronies have taken another step to shroud themselves in secrecy. Sealing all presidential records early in his term wasn't enough. Fighting the courts not to disclose who attended the Energy Commission meetins wasn't enough. Using blatantly wrong information (and knowingly) to start an unstoppable war wasn't enough.

Last spring, Bush signed an agreement transferring White House visitor records from the Secret Service to the White House iteself.....making said records exempt from the Freedom of Information Act. They cannot will not be disclosed to the public.

LAST SPRING. But hits the media in January!!!

Of course, without these records, the likes of W saying the Jack Abramoff never visited the 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue would have never been dislcosed. Without those records, that lie never would have been uncovered and the GOP would most likely control at least the Senate, if not both houses of Congress.

"It appears the White House is actually manufacturing evidence to further its own agenda," Anne Weismann, a Justice Department lawyer for 19 years and now chief counsel to Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington, said Friday.

The White House and the Secret Service declined to comment.

I'm guessing it will be years (or decades) to know exactly what these criminals have been up to these last two terms. This is only what they are doing that we KNOW about.

Say what you want about Clinton, but he could have done the same thing with the logs and saved himself a lot of headaches w/Monica and Whitewater....and you didn't hear the GOP complain about using those as ways to make his life hell. One could say Bill wasn't as smart as Bush. I would say he's just not as devious....or cowardly.

Oh - and Harriet Miers resigned. Maybe I'm being conspiracy-minded - but is it because a legal battle is looming for which she is not up to the task? Or is there something out there that makes her a liablity?
