My Music Monday

It's March Sadness.

I somewhat made fund of Dame Elton John last week.  And by "somewhat", I mean "totally".

I stand by it.

That said, until 1976, John was somewhat palatable. I had, and have, a number of those disks.  But with this double album of that same year, Blue Moves, I was less inclined to listen to his musuc, let alone buy.

I have to believe it was the same time he broke ranks with his songwriting partner. Bernie Taupin might have been the more talented half of that duo, since the quality of songs went downhill.

Still, of the four sides of Blue Moves, it had one hit song. Today's selection. But it's a good one. "Sorry Seems to Be the Hardest Word".  The song is well put together and it fits into this month's theme.

I've always felt that E.J. is at his best when melancholic, though this does come dangerously close to 'wallowing'. Good nonetheless.
