Well, it finally happened.  

What was probably an extremely well orchestrated and well timed endorsement, Taylor Swift gave the official thumbs-up to Kamala Harris. 

I didn't watch the debates and went to bed before there was on-line chatter. I avoided the news (still) and mostly stayed away from social media, because..........well, all the reasons I didn't watch the debate the night before. 

Last February, I made such a need for Swift to publicly endorse (at the time) Pappy Joe. 

What I actually said was she had to come out against VonShitsinPantz. 

That did not happen. Her message was clear, but much more nuanced. I get it, she has a billion dollar business to run. 

She claims to have just watched the debates and.......   And maybe she did. Clearly it wasn't an off-the-cuff Instagram post and it came literally RIGHT after the debates. Like seconds, maybe a few minutes. There were probably multiple versions drafted waiting to see which one to send depending on the debates. 

By all accounts - mind you, like third hand at this point - Harris was the more professional person on the stage, but you know, Stevie Wonder could see that. It sounds like she deftly tagged him as a racist going back at least to the Central Park 5 and working her way up to present day. Good for her. 

Back to the IG wording:  she only uses the names of Harris and Walz, and never of their opponents. She doesn't even give them any possible airtime, which is perfect.  Well, I take that back, she calls out BLOTUS using a fake AI Taylor to endorse him. But doesn't lay the screws to him directly in the rest of the endorsement. 

And she was smart enough to say she did her research and others should do theirs. She never tells anyone to vote the way she is. Maybe it is implied, but then you'd have to be in the mind of 40,029, 103 Swifties. 

Most importantly, she had a link to how to register to vote in each state. PERFECT.  Allegedly 337,000 voter registrations came in less than 24 hours after Swift's endorsement. Also allegedly, a bolus of donations have some Harris' way. 

You can read Swift's entire post here. At the time of this writing, she had almost 10 million likes to the post. As I don't follow her, I don't know if that is more, the same or less than she usually gets of other posts. 

Beyoncé needs to do the same thing. And again, soon. Voter registration is nearing most state deadlines. 

Those two could help move a younger demographic actually get out and vote. And the women's vote. And they take care of two racial categories. But whom from the Hispanic community carry that same weight? 

I keep hearing about Hispanic voters for BLOTUS. It amazes me more than Log Cabin homos. I guess they forgot about separating Hispanic families and putting kids in pens, some never to see their parents again. You'd think that right there would be enough, but clearly not. Just like marriage equality and DOMA were nothing to the Log Cabin homos. 

For the life of me, I cannot think of a Hispanic person of sway to do what Swift or Beyoncé  brings to the table?  It ain't J-Lo. It ain't Gloria Estefan. I guess that leaves Charo. 

I did see that Shillbilly Vanilli called Swift "fundamentally disconnected".  

That's why she has a billons dollars and he doesn't. What a fucking douche he is.
