Crying, Waiting, Hoping

Over the 35 years the Simpsons has been on television (IKR?), the show has weirdly predicted any number of things that would come to pass.

A sample would be:

  • Lisa predicting the Washington Redskins would win Super Bowl XXVI.
  • The show featured a Siegfried and Roy-like characters whose tiger attacks one of them. This happened 10 years before Siegfried (or was it Roy?) got attacked.
  • On a March 17, 1996 show, they reportedly predicted the January 6 United States Capitol attack, which occurred on that date in 2021.
  • November 8, 1998, features an establishing shot of the 20th Century Fox logo as "A DIVISION OF WALT DISNEY CO", which thereby predicted the Acquisition of 21st Century Fox by Disney, which began on December 14, 2017 and ended on March 20, 2019
  • On the episode, dated May 20, 2012, predicted Lady Gaga's halftime show at Super Bowl LI, which occurred on February 5, 2017. Just as it was depicted in the episode, Lady Gaga used suspension cables to give the appearance as if she were flying. The outfit she wore at Super Bowl LI was also similar to one shown in the episode.

The list goes on a little bit more. A total of 34!

The show did NOT get a female president (Lisa Simpson) inheriting a huge debt from previous president BLOTUS.  ....and that one was back in 2000. So they got part of it right, just not the female president piece.

There is another prediction they had.

There is an aired episode from March 19, 2000, reportedly predicted the presidencies of Donald Trump, which occurred from January 20, 2017 to January 20, 2021 and later from January 20th, 2025.

...and yet there is one more.........slated for tomorrow.

Please, believe me Santa, please!

Of course then we are stuck with "President JD Fucking Vance".   ......so, no real gain.

We can revisit this all on the 13th, I suppose. I'd even forgo 12 of 12 to make a joyful death post. OR, just 12 of 12 of BLOTUS death shit. That might even be better!

Expose Yourself

While I could go on (and on an on) about what the fuck is wrong with #moscowmitch, who has the time.

Clearly, he is a tough stick with an IV. But wouldn't the question be, why was that needed in the first place.

I suppose when you're the living dead, replacing your blood with embalming solution has to get into those veins somehow.

BTW.....how bad of a candidate or population do you have to be to lose to this douche??  Amy McGrath is down at least eight points in ANY Kentucky poll.  FUCK.

So anyway, let's focus on something more pleasant:  Jeffrey Toobin's dick.

C'mon, let's be honest, we'd all rather see Toobin's schlong than McConnell's face. I'm not just speaking for myself. I have to believe #moscowmitch's mail order bride feels the same way.

It's a shame about Toobin's Zoom Whack-Off incident, if for nothing else that he was (until now) respected, a good writer / commentator, and a decent court analysis guy.

Now, he's just going to be known as the Guy Who Took His Dick Out During a Zoom Meeting Guy.

Literally.

There is a challenge out there now:

.....and yes.........people took this guy up on it.

The irony is not lost on me that Toobin wrote for the New Yorker. And it's funny, until it's not.

I guess guys will be guys............and sometimes you just don't want them to be.

.....and you can Gooooooogle image a lot lot lot more of these, should you be so inclined.

Naturally Jeffery's dick has it's own Twitter account.

What would one have to do to get blocked from that, I wonder.

Rough Justice

I was going to submit these without comment, but I'm not sure I can make that a promise. Actually, I know I cannot.

THIS!   The first of two very truisms.

Like it wasn't blurry enough before.

More than a little telling.

This - and the one below - are the second of the truisms.

I know there are people who do not believe Ford - oddly, I haven't come across any of them, online or in real life.

This really is it. "We" don't care. Assault and rape aren't barriers to public office or life time appointments.  People might see me a 'left-leaning', but exactly when did pro / anti rape and assault become a right / left stance?

And as for that "he was 15"......fine. Let it happen to your daughter or granddaughter - and then tell me how it might hurt the assaulter's life if he were punished in any form.

No. Go on. I'll wait.

My biggest problem with Kavanaugh - you know, other than sexual assault - is this.

Clearly taking a page from the BLOTUS playbook, it in itself is scarily amazing. And hypocritical. Of course any SCOTUS nominee is political. But since he brought it up in a public forum, why did not one of the democrats bring it right back up  - as in, politically holding up Garland's failed nomination?   Democrats are as weak as the GOP is awful.

This is the result of any confirmation.

This is actually the result of the confirmation process.  It is beyond sad.
Now scan back up to the second truism.

Someone's Coming

Outside of a few Far Sides and Calvin & Hobbes, this actual Life in Hell panel ranks up in the top 5 of the best cartoons ever published.

I have no real post today, other than it is National Coming Out day - and you know how I feel about that as I've written about it a few times, like last year and in 2010, 2009, and a cool video from OSU's Baker Hall West back in 2007.

Still, little warms my cold cold heart more than Akbar and Jeff.

They have the best 'coming out' ever.
