Site of the Month

Eagles!

And not the Philadelphia kind either. The big birds. Like the one Coward BLOTUS ducked away from his first term.

No - there is a live webcam on two eagles in California.

There some very well positioned cams - and high quality at that - which have been monitoring a male and female bald eagle couple.

Shadow and Jackie now have three new chicks.  .....not that you might be able to see them today, but more on that in a second.

This webcam has shown the actual hatching of all three chicks. Egrets?

Allegedly, usually they only have two and if there are more, historically the chicks will kill the third. I'm not sure if this bodes well for #3 as they were born 4-5 days after the first two.  Ahhhhh........nature.

As of this writing, there are allegedly still three.

I say allegedly, because the comments say so. But what has been a beautiful vista up until a day or so ago, has turned into a lot of snow in the San Bernadino mountains.

One of the two parents has been covering up the chicks to keep them warm and protected.

But when both parents are there, you get to see nature. Dad bringing home a fish and ripping it apart and both parents feeding the kids.

The webcam site is actually here on YouTube.  But there is a crude recap site that, if you scroll down, will tell you the activity of the days.

We don't obsessively watch, but we check in on them daily since about the time the babies were born.

It's something to do that isn't the destruction of this country.

Such a grand site.

Eagles are amazing parents. I took a walk in Dyke Marsh on Wednesday, Mom was sitting slightly above the nest, and a warmish afternoon.
