Like any artist, she has her highs and lows. Starting as a folk artist, she branched out here and there - but in reality most people know her for her hit "Luka" from 1987's album Solitude Standing, which also contained her song "Tom's Diner" was used by a UK dance production team called DNA.
Honestly, if I never hear that latter song again, I'm ok. Vega has much better material. And her truly branched out material, 99.9F° and Nine Objects of Desire both produced by her then husband are good. Nine Objects I'm guessing would be up in the top 50 of my all time favourite albums.
Vega has her first new disk coming out in May, Flying with Angels. "Speakers' Corner" is maybe the first release from the disk.
It's fine. It's a bit banal. She's done this before - or something too similar, that is. She's capable of more and can be much more interesting. Maybe this is the safe track to dole out to the public. I'll hold off to hear the rest of the disk in a few months.
