I completely forgot to mention that yesterday we went to go look at the Geauga Humane Society to look @ dogs. Kind of getting our paws wet. I always assume they'll have tons and they didn't. Maybe a dozen or so. Some really cute - some weren't even up for adoption b/c they haven't been acclimated to people. Some were slated for adoption (Rudy and and a malamute who isn't on the site). Barkley seemed really really cute - but Barky should have been his name. MAN. He's gonna talk himself right out of an adoption.
The dogs were ok, b/c there wasn't anyone we wanted to take home. The Kitty Condo (as Pru might call it) was pure heartbreak. A few dozen cats (no kittens) - so many of them so cute. Tovah and Kylie would adapt better to a dog than another cat though.
The place was great. Extremely clean. It didn't smell like a shelter or rescue. Certainly didn't look/smell like Cat Welfare in Columbus.
So long story short - we didn't get a dog. But I think Denton feels even better about doing this. I'll keep everyone posted.

Check out petfinder.com--you can search by area, type of dog, etc. and they're usually dogs who are in foster care or at no-kill shelters.
