Have You Seen Me Lately?

Still on the mend.

Thank g-d for celebrity deaths to get me off my health posts - which in an odd way is fine for me. There is only so much trauma and healing I can bothered yakking about.

But it's animal day. This week, many pics taken by me.........just from the same location.

Shep has been a good but passive caregiver. He doesn't really do much but lie below me at night and lay at my side in bed during the day. Still it's enough to calm me internally, so there are some medicinal qualities to his presence.

We have surprise guests too. So........yay.

He usually jumps up, on my good side, first thing in the morning when I awake.
Sometimes he jumps down, sometimes he painfully crawls over me to the other side.

I can't take my afternoon nap without him.
I'm very glad for this.

My nephew sent me a new pic of Henry. Great image.

710 picked up Shep while I was at the hospital and sent me this.

Morning nap. For him.
Me? Probably playing NYT games. Or trying to relax.

My sister in law sent a pic - via 710 - of Simon !!!!!
I miss this guy in a way. We never truly bonded, but man, I saved his life. Throw me a bone!

Bite Me

Well, yesterday was just a weird moment and post. I got a text saying there was no post and clearly, it just went by the wayside. The post. The though of a post. The non-realization of something I have done daily for at least the last 6,205 days!

Sure, I fixed it and all, but it was done on my phone (a first) from work (another first) .

Clearly formatting a blog post via phone isn't a strong skill. But why break a daily entry streak since 2008?  710 thinks I should take days here and there. Morty gets nervous that I haven't taken a break - which sounds odd to some, but I totally get from where he is coming.

Paying the cheese tax.

Shep had to go to "school" but 710 was coddling him.
I do love that both he and Petey use a pillow.

My would-be girlfriend, Olive.

75°F.  Two hours from then it would be 40°F. In six hours it would be 26°F.
But we enjoyed sitting on the back stoop for an hour just watching the world.

I only know one of these dudes.

SUPRISE !!!!

A special treat: Simon!

710 went over to see his sister last weekend and Simon made an appearance. He let 710 pet him, and then bit him........as he is prone to do.

Moving Pictures

This week is about equal amounts .mov extensions as there are .jpg.

It's been a Winter Wonderland Hellscape the last few days, but it's made for movies and motion I suppose. And the cold brings out Shep's Carhartt.

Poor scared dude at the vet.
He wasn't sick, but needed yearly bloodwork. He just loathes this place - and I get it.

Bailey in the snow.
Uusally my sister gets more snow than we do - but not this last Thursday night.

Post vet walk (and pre-pup cup).
Big mistake - for me. My boots are not 12-14" high. And not a path even semi-clean = snow in my boots.

Here's a surprise for all - Simon!

Bailey warming up.

Shep on his racetrack.
I haven't gotten a good 'zoomie' version of this yet.

Gold

One cat sighting this go-round  YAY.  The rest are dogs.

But as we move into the holiday season, we are coming upon my annual blog-reader's pet picture post.

Yes, your pets get to be the star of the post coming on Saturday, December 20th. Maybe the 27th. I suppose it doesn't have to be BEFORE xmas. It just always has.

During the last few years, I have kind of hurried to get this together and I'd rather not do that. So the earliest you can get me your pics - along with names of the cats, dogs, iguanas and ferrets - the better. I'll start crafting the post as I get the pics, so there will be no last minute rushing around.

As always, there will be an in memorium section, so if you've had a loss of a loved one, we should honour that as well.

On with this week's show!

The last photo shoot before we got snow.
Winter has unofficially begun.

Apparently the magic words are "drop it".
Olive was not giving up the ball. Allegedly her favourite toy.

Shep sneaking onto our bed.
He really has no restrictions on where he can go, he just normally doesn't go into our room let alone onto our bed much - and almost never alone.

In the last few weeks I've just found him here napping. It's fine with me.

Golden City.

THAT is a lot of Goldens. I'm sure it's not even all of them.

Same day, different angle.
I don't know his guy/girl - but yes, say it with me: I love them.

SIMON!

It might as well be Nessie or Sasquatch for the rarity we've seen him. Dining Room is a Cat Room.
Really - aren't all rooms cat room?

I got a text from 710 as I was coming home from a run: Shep has been waiting for you.
Along with this picture. It kind of broke my heart.

Higher Ground

Ok, this time I got a number of unsolicited cat and kitten photos.  ......and it got weird. But you'll see. Three-fifths of the cats got 'the memo'.  The others didn't, or opted to ignore.

Still........felines.  And canines.

I wasn't sure which kitten this was. I had to be told it was both of them.
Just keep looking.

Happy Dog.
Took a shot for 710 to let him know I picked up the dog from daycare and we were on a walk.

Bailey by the glow of the aquarium.

For whatever reason, Shep insisted on taking one of his ducks outside.
In almost 9 years, he has never taken a toy outside..

For two cats that never used to be near each other, Pippa and Willow seem to be changing their tune.

Simon made it another level higher. At least my SiL doesn't have to dust up there.

Now both of them are up there!

His nonverbal response to "dinner?"

On Top

Yes yes - it's Saturday. Dog and cats. Or kittens.

It's been hot again. Now and then he needs to air out his privates.

Arthur!  I get to see him at the gym 1-2 x / week.
I get jumps and licks.

Simon!
A rare sighting anymore. Apparently, he likes sleeping on top of the kitchen cabinets.

Pop Up Shep.
Another ride home from a run where I happen upon Shep and his walker. He jumped up to see me!

Kitts chillaxing as my nephew works from home.
It doesn't look like they stray far from each other. Ever. All of them.

Arthur again.  More licks. He is so adorable.

Oh, the manipulation.
Cuteness to hurry along the process to a car ride on a weekend day.

Animals

I think we have enough variety to please most folks today. Cats. Dogs. Kittens.  What more do you people want??

Hot hikes deserve cool-downs in nearby creeks.

Bailey - the backseat driver in her throne.  Man - those ears!

Virginia and Henry are settling in.
Honestly, I don't know which is which yet.

SIMON!!!!

The prodigal returns. I thought he learned a new skill. But my SIL opened a cabinet to do something and he just decided to jump in.

Shep: Background Dog.  ....but he is 'adorbs'.

Spa day for HRH.

Together but separate. They seem comfortable with my nephew.

....and clearly they're bonded. Which i just love.

Cow

There is certainly variety this week. That's about all the intro I have today.

After daycare walk with Shep.  Posing did NOT happen.

Eva Braun Pippa.
My niece, it seems, is out of the country and I was asked to look at her cats one day, because my sister could not. I live 2 miles away, my sister: 20. I just told her I'd do it for the entire time they're gone.

Not the best Bailey shot. I'll have another chance today for next week's post.

SIMON.

He seems very comfortable at his new home. At least when workers are not around.
He was nowhere to be seen when I was over.

Another after daycare walk - this time through the woods. It would be muddy.

Wet food.

Pippa came out when I cracked the can open. I got lots of rubs around my ankles, but I reached down to pet her once and got hissed at.

Willow, her sister (and whom I don't think I've actually ever seen) was nowhere to be found. I split the portions, but I am guessing Pippa at them both.

Highland cow?

My niece sent this from her trip to Scotland. I hope it was zoom and they weren't that close to the horns.
