Blade Runner

This not being able to take care of Shep is really hampering my pic taking of him. I get it's only temporary, but there's not much I can do in the interim.

Like me, you will all live.

Probably.

He's adorable when he sleeps. Like Petey, he needs a pillow.

A lovely aged pup waiting patiently for their owner.

Again - Shep:Autumn

Henry or Virginia watching Blade Runner.
Henry or Virginia not watching Blade Runner.

...and once again, the pic of the week was taken by 710 at daycare pick-up.

Gimme Some Lovin'

Saturday is usually an easy post to draft and publish - unless you're lazy and procrastinating like I am.

Actually, this can be done days in advance, but I'm doing it hours before deadline. Somedays it is hard to get motivated.

Shep at one of our metro park nature centers.

This Osito.  He was in Cincinnati visiting from Toronto.
I asked to see him and was granted access. Osito was all about me. And biting my fingers.

Mostly playful biting but he was not letting go. Eventually we had to part ways.

Waiting and watching for Dad #1.
Story of my life.

This was one of our pillows at our hotel  in Cinci.

We stopped in Columbus too. We visited Becca and her family.
This is Zoey. She loved on us. Pretty pretty girl.

This was as close to Boo as we could get.
He wasn't a fan.

And getting some love from Shep upon pick-up after we came back from our short trip.

the Walker

I wasn't paying attention and posted two entries yesterday.  I had pre-drafted a few for what was supposed to be our trip to Berlin so I wouldn't have to write while away.

Well......that backfired. But if you missed, you can scroll back to see both posts.

Today is just the animal post.........like most every Saturday.

Shep got a doggie bagel from Einstein.

Georgia - outside and beautiful.

Tired Bailey.

Shep on our outing to the lake the other day.

It seems after a year, Simon has found the crystals hanging above my sister-in-law's dining room table.

I got tennis balls.

After five weeks of use, the rubber stoppers on the bottom just broke through, and it was metal on wood. No can do.  Yeah - it looks like I'm 93 with them on, but what a game changer. I glide everywhere - well, indoors.

Shep isn't sure what to do about not getting the tennis balls.

So Tired

Better pics this week. Still only one by me, but that's ok.

Being at home almost 24 / 7 is kind of a pain. Monday - Friday from 08:00 - 16:00 is a bit lonely, but I'm surviving. I can't keep Shep home because I can't walk him and lord knows I am not allowed to bend down to pick up his poop.

Two more weeks and two days.  ......but who's counting???

This about sums it up for me these days.  Dog and my walker.

Bailey after being boarded for five days.
It's difficult to catch her when she's quiet.

I miss having a cat.

Lord that tongue.

Shadow

This lack of getting around is gonna hamper pet Saturday for a bit, I fear.

Shep can't stay at home with me, because I can't truly take care of him, so he goes to daycare. No days out for us. No walks. No nothing.

No daycare pick-ups, so no daycare dogs either. Like everything else with this accident, I have to learn to adjust.

My shadow.  Kind of.

Shep is always around, but sort of keeps his distance. He doesn't bolt at the walker, but doesn't approach me as he was common. I know it is a lot going on.

Archived Georgia.

This has to be from at least three weeks ago.

Shep will come and join me on the bed, but a lot of the time 710 has to be there as well.
I'll take it anyway I can.

Virginia and Henry. These three are pack animals. Love it.

Have You Seen Me Lately?

Still on the mend.

Thank g-d for celebrity deaths to get me off my health posts - which in an odd way is fine for me. There is only so much trauma and healing I can bothered yakking about.

But it's animal day. This week, many pics taken by me.........just from the same location.

Shep has been a good but passive caregiver. He doesn't really do much but lie below me at night and lay at my side in bed during the day. Still it's enough to calm me internally, so there are some medicinal qualities to his presence.

We have surprise guests too. So........yay.

He usually jumps up, on my good side, first thing in the morning when I awake.
Sometimes he jumps down, sometimes he painfully crawls over me to the other side.

I can't take my afternoon nap without him.
I'm very glad for this.

My nephew sent me a new pic of Henry. Great image.

710 picked up Shep while I was at the hospital and sent me this.

Morning nap. For him.
Me? Probably playing NYT games. Or trying to relax.

My sister in law sent a pic - via 710 - of Simon !!!!!
I miss this guy in a way. We never truly bonded, but man, I saved his life. Throw me a bone!

Back Home

As you'd imagine, the pickings were kind of slim this week, being I haven't been home to take a picture. And I have not taken one. Not of a dog.

On my last day in the hospital I realized no one offered me therapy dogs.  W.T.F.?

But it's a decent showing here if I say so myself.

710 picking up the Dude while I lay around a hospital.

Chef Bob wanted to bring over Olive to see me, and as much as I'd love it, I couldn't handle that kind of visit.

My nephew sent me pics of Henry and Virginia to help me recover.
These three are bonded. It's great to see.

The reunion.

Shep was excited to see me when I got home Friday night (yes, I went home sans cath), but immediately pulled away. The equipment. The strange smells The movements.

He slept next to my side of the bed all night and given the chance to see me the next morning he did come up on the bed and lay next to me for three hours. He's barely left the bedroom since I've been home, but is keeping his distance.

Hitch Hike

Just random shots this week.  ....but I guess, isn't that every week?

I was coming home from a run and Mr. Shep was out for a walk.
He ended up riding home with me.  710 (and Shep's poop) walked the half a block.

Some were excited to see me.
The elder dog on the left and the lab bringing me a present.

I suppose this could have gone badly - but everyone was well behaved.

Rusty.

We happened upon an orange cat the other day. Any orange cat I don't know, I name them "Rusty".

On one of the hot days, we took the man to the Chagrin River to frolic.
Shep came along too.

Rusty - if they took dog form.

Shep and I on an adventure to the polo fields.
No horses were spotted.

Daisy

We are way heavy on guest dogs today.

Daycare has been a bonanza for me this week.

Daisy.

I mean, I love most dogs, but I LOVE Daisy - and she me.
Apparently she is wary of most, but she loves me. Lots of pets for her. The daycare attendant and I think she has some hound in her, and maybe St. Bernard or Great Pyrenees. She's a doll.

Sydney whom you've seen many a-time here.
She got between Daisy and myself.

Oh, those fucking ears!  Adorbs.

Shep spotting (and barking at) a police horse in the park.

Pippa in prison.

Lando. I hadn't see him for a while. Love him.
And little Lucy below him.

The man. The legend.
One day I know I'm gonna have to pay for that dog door.

Don't know this dude.  But it's gotta be a dude, right?

Monte. He looks gruff, but he is a love bug.
