Big Bird

This is a big ass heron, right?

I mean, the heron part is correct. I'm not 100% great at ornithology, but I know some things. 

But the size. It's big ass for a heron, no?

Mind you, I zoomed in from across a lake for the picture while walking Shep yesterday. 

I saw it with my bare eyes - even in their diminished capacity - from across a fucking lake. 

As I am not an ornithological expert, it just seems like a bird on steroids. It was standing in a place we usually see it when on the other side of the lake, and that close up it doesn't look so large. 

Of course, I'm assuming it is the same one. Again, not an expert. 

There were other folks out there photographing it from afar, with camera lenses that would have made the papparrazzi (sp) jealous. I guess I could have said something to them or asked questions, but I was feeling somewhat introverted and not in the mood to talk to anyone - even low level avian talk. 

Oh, and if you hadn't figure it out already, I had nothing of which to write today.
