10 Million Miles

At some point yesterday, I crossed the 10,000,000th view of this blog-thingy.

10,000,1998 at the time of this drafting.

It took from 2003 until 2017 to get to 1,000,000 visits. So another nine in nine years doesn't seem so bad.

I hit the 9 million mark about 6.5 months ago. I think I said then it has been taking me (lately) about 6-8 months to acquire an additional mill.

I have all these seemingly fake deadlines for this blog to end.

One was my 100th 12 of 12.  Since we are 93 past that, clearly that didn't happen.

The 20 year mark was another. That has come and gone as well.

As I started to get into the millions of views, I had set my sites on 10,000,000 views to call it quits. But I don't think that's happening either.

Actually, I know it is not.

So the date / milestone keeps moving. 25 years?  10,000 posts?  My untimely death?  My timely death? Who knows - certainly not me.

I'm glad you all keep stopping by. I don't even mind that the bots are probably driving up those number - and I'm 99% sure they are. Somehow in my pea brain 'views' equals 'acceptance'.

That's another shrink convo to have, but then I'd have to tell him about this blog. Perhaps I should have a long time ago, but.......now it would just seem like I was withholding, which I am.

At previous million view marks I kept saying about monetizing this thing, but that's not gonna happen either. Honestly, I'm far too lazy to even set it up for the $0.42 it would ever gross.

So, as it is, I'll continue to plug along. By the holidays I should be at, or close to, the 11 mark. Not that it is really worth anything except bragging rights in a very niche community: gay, left-handed blogger / marathoners with an A- blood type.

There are less of us than you think, but more than you actually want.
