No politics today. Can't deal. Won't deal. 

Clearly, I don't get viral anything - not even Covid. I mean in terms of internet - what goes viral, and better yet -why.  

Fleetwood Mac's "Dreams", and the album from whence it came, Rumours, are back on the charts. 

The song is simultaneously #1 and #4 on iTunes songs (from Fleetwood Mac's Greatest Hits and Rumours, respectively)

The album is #27 on the Billboard Top 200 chart. #16 on iTunes.

The "single"was #1 on the Billboard  Hot Rock & Alternative Songs (is it either of those...........really?) and #3 on Rock Digital Song. Sales. 

This is good news for Stevie Nicks and her accountant. As the songwriter, she will make much more coin off this than her current and former bandmates. 

So back to the viral thing. 

This resurgence for an album and song that is 43 years old (!!!!) is due to a man, on an unseen skateboard, being pulled along by a truck / car while the song plays and he swigs Ocean Spray cran-drink. And he lip syncs one line in a Tik Tok video that is all of 23 seconds long.

.....and it's been viewed millions and millions and millions of times. 

And I don't know why. Or care. 

Neither does Stevie Nicks or her accountant. As long as the royalties keep coming in.

However, since I'm guessing the average age of a Tik Tok audience is far less than the 43 years the song has been out, kerjillions are hearing the song for the first time. "Dreams" got 8.5 million streams last week, many of them the first time for most of these services users. 

Granted, it has aged very well, if I say so myself.

Learn to Fly

I know it's made the rounds - as even I've posted it on Facebook. But I was just so wow'd by 1,000 musicians playing the Foo Fighters' "Learn to Fly".

I like the song anyways, but I thought it was an incredible way to try to woo a band to play your native land.

I get that I don't know how much of the playing was isolated with mics, because you certainly don't hear any screw-ups. But when they get long shots of the drummers, not one of them is out of synch. It is totally awesome to watch.

And everyone is in tune. But with so many singers, you're not hearing the Peter Bradys of Italy.

The song is only the first four minutes of the video. Watch the rest if you like. Or don't.

The Foo Fighters even put this video on the front page of their website. I don't see how Dave Grohl & Co. cannot go and perform there now.
