Power to the People

I hate where we are in this country so fucking much.

SO. FUCKING. MUCH.

One more dead in Minneapolis at ICE's hands.

Allegedly Minnesota has 130k immigrants. Texas and Florida have over 1.5 MILLION - each.

So this isn't about immigration. They are both red states who don't have a governor that criticizes the president.

Plain and simple.

This prick ran only for retribution. I honestly believe that. And he's getting it. DOJ. FBI. NSA. Treasury.  Everything.

If they're going to be lawless, than maybe so should we. It is honestly the only thing I think they'd understand.

While I know it's not really the answer, it might be a wake-up call.

I'd say this won't end well, but that might be the understatement of a lifetime.

But YAY for people showing up in huge numbers in Minneapolis in the frigid cold.  g-d love 'em.

Kissing the Ring of POTUS

I'm not even remotely surprised by any of this.

FOX "news" must be apoplectic that CBS and Paramount are now the front-runner for State run media.

FOX did all the leg work and Paramount took it across the finish line - a few times. That's gotta hurt.

First it was Colbert. Then it was a first botched 60 Minutes love fest on BLOTUS. Now it's the cancelling of a 60 Minutes piece that was vetted by Standards and Practices and the CBS legal squad.

60 Minutes new head, ironically coming from the Free Press, 86'd a segment on Venezuelan prisons where the US is deporting folks.

Bari Weiss (purpossefully?) did not watch the five times the segment was reviewed at CBS prior to the show being scheduled to air. Less than 48 hours before go-time, she cancelled it. Well, she 'postponed' it saying it needed more work. Saying "they" - the segment producers and talent - needed to get Stephen Miller's side of the story for it to air.

With that logic, it has been pointed out, the White House could control any narrative on political stories if they opted not to comment at all.

Of course, social media did it's job.

The segment reporter Sharyn Alfonsi and 60 Minutes mainstay and former CBS Evening News anchor Scott Pelley were publicly vocal about their boss and their broadcaster's take on how this all went down. I expect neither of them to have jobs in the near future - for completely other made up reasons, of course.

Actually, I can see 60 Minutes being closed down. Maybe another network can pick it up and add one minute and call it 61 Minutes just to get around any name infringement.

Weiss, while riding a tsunami of criticism for her handling of this, shouldn't be affected. She's got the new fascist regime at Paramount behind her pulling her strings, so she's good. I'm sure she's got the backing of the White House too.

Cory Booker on the other hand, I expect to be browbeaten by the Senate, the WH and Paramount.

I'm not quite sure, but somehow he seemingly helped in getting that segment to Canadian broadcasters who did air it.

While I didn't see it, but should, 710 did. If nothing else to add to the number of views it keeps tallying. I couldn't find the link (though I didn't look too hard) if you wanted to view the piece.

I feel with this and the Epstein shit and the Kennedy Center, walls seem to be closing in on BLOTUS a little. But he's weathered worse before and come out unscathed. Just once I want to see him pay the price for something.....................anything.

Say it to Me

I'm not sure what to think about my Instagram algorithm.

Yay for pegging me as against fascism.

Not quite sure what to do about the faggot thing.

I mean, I am..........but that's "our" word.

Honestly, it's not the first time I've been identified that way called it.  Doubtful it will be the last.

As you'd imagine, it used to bother me. Shame me. Belittle me.

Now?  If some random straight person yelled it at me, I'd laugh in their face.

Well, I say that, but I was a little stunned when someone called 710 and myself "fucking faggots' near Times Square after leaving a Broadway play. I didn't act as I wasn't looking to get stabbed.

But the IG algorithm "suggested" this shirt for me to purchase.

Now, I need another t-shirt like I need to be stabbed outside a Broadway play. Anymore, my t-shirts are all race shirts. So, in a way, I could use one that isn't running related. And in wearing it, I've already put any person about to call me 'faggot' in a position where they could be deemed a 'fascist'.

At least I'd be owning it.

For the slightly less controversial folks, it does come in "BETTER TO BE A FA**OT....." version.

I don't know different laws on using the word - even in t-shirt form - out in public. I mean, if you're gonna say it, SAY IT.

I mean, I don't know exactly where I'd wear this. Pride seems the right thing to say, but no one is batting an eye there at something like this. I barely got a blip with my "So Many Gerbils So Little Time" shirt eons ago.

I've been quite anti-social lately, and it seems extreme for the grocery store. Or the gym.

It's a, "I kind of want it, just in case...." scenario. But I'm also practical enough to know I'm not prying my wallet open to actually get it.

But it was good enough for a post. So there.
