Death Cab for Cutie kind of ruined that, but I'm not 100% sure a song has hit me to the core - lyrically - on the first play as "Stone Over Water".
This is their second release from their just released album, I Build You a Tower. Their first song, "Riptide" was ok, but that was it.
The song was released six days ago.
The opening two lines of the song are just perfect. Ben Gibbard has a way with a phrase in many of his songs and this one does not disappoint.
"Stone Over Water" hits on the times of today - at least in my mind. " 'cause oh how this year's been a slog" .
As I journey with my mental health, it's easy for me to say "I've been seen" with this song. I'm sure it is not just me - not by a long shot. Yet it's not their blog, so............ me. me. me.
