Miles

My running app provides certain challenge / goals to their subscribers.  I posted last year about the 1,024 km one they had. This year they upped it to 1,025.

I guessing the 24 and 25 are to correlate to the years (2024 and 2025). And they don't think as many people would joining a 2,025 km challenge.

Last year, I finished this challenge in mid June. I didn't think one extra kilometer would take me a month!

Ha - it didn't. 2024 had me training for a Spring marathon, so my miles were greater than this year when only training for a half. I didn't have 18 and 20 mile runs, which add up quickly.

Yesterday on my 5 mile run, I hit and surpassed the app goal.

640 miles completed so far this year. Not including a run or two where I forgot to start my watch at the beginning of the run.

Like last year, I am hoping to do 2000 km, or about 1240 miles for the full year. I think 100 miles per month is doable. But I thought that last year and of course I got injured, so I barely made it to 982 miles. Should I remain injury free and do my full marathon training, I should be able to achieve this with little problem.

I don't know if I can call it pride, but happy to know I'm in the top 4% of all the 200,000+ participants of this challenge.

Since the challenge does go on until the end of 2025, they'll continue to track my progress, so at least I'll have a full accounting of my recorded runs.

Only 600 miles to go!

You're getting there, B - and you WILL. Soon(?) you'll be seeing the finishing line. Very best of luck in getting over it.
