I lie here trying to sleep - and keep hearing this rattle in which I thought was my throat. I now think it's my lungs. Every five-ten seconds. Not always on an inhale or exhale. As I try to rest - the noise gets louder and louder, or at least seemingly so. Making it impossible to really rest. A respiratory chinese water torture. What will the night time hours have in store for me?
UGH. Day 3 (or is it 4?) of feeling ikcy. I think I have gotten a total of 6 hrs of sleep in the last 2 days. I can't breathe. Snot for days. And though don't feel feverish - every so often break out into a sweat as if a fever is breaking. Maybe I have SARS. Though I haven't been to Hong Kong, I did have chinese food not that long ago. : )

Happy Birthday Jack Z !!!
well, it's definately a cold and not allergies. of course, all the decongestant and other drugs are playing havoc w/my sleeping habits. It was dream central last night for the few hours I actually slept. They were somewhat integrated and I don't know why or how - but it had to do w/a death of one of the characters of 'That '70s Show' (which I don't watch) and Rob Lowe's character on 'The West Wing' (which I do watch) running over a puppy. I know the '70s show is supposed to be a comedy, but the phrase that kept creeping into my dream was '....on a very special epsiode of....' which just reeks of 'Afterschool Special'.

The Rob Lowe dream kept trying to figure out how to put positive spin on him running over a puppy while the other 7 in the litter watched - along w/their owner. I must have been a staffer in his office trying to come up w/some good view of this. Of course, everyone knows, that I don't find running over puppies good - no matter what.

Happy Birthday Jon !!!!
Blobby's feeling blucky. Not sure if I got a cold comin' on or allergies. All icky - and of course, we went from a 70 degree day yesterday to predicted snow today. UGH. I guess 'out like a lion' is going to be the case this year.

What does it all mean when you dream of doing one-on-one education about HIPAA to Linkin Park's lead singer? I gotta watch what I eat before I go to beddie-by.

Frank Rich had an interesting article in Sunday's NYT. You didn't have to see 'Chicago' to appreciate it - but it helps.
I had to laugh while listening to a report on Marketplace (PRI....Public Radio International). John Dimsdale is reporting on the Bush administration publically denouncing Russia for their allowing the sale of military equipment to Iraq. Shrub says it's a violation of U.N. treaties/sanctions. I was literally screaming at the radio: HELLOOOOOO.....doesn't the U.S. violate U.N. rules (i.e. WAR) when we damn well feel like it???? Luckily, this wasn't lost on the Russian gov't, since Mr. Dimsdale reported on that too.

It's a bit upsetting to know that the U.S. has used 3 x the amount of cruise missles in the first 3 day of war than they did for the entire Gulf War in 1991 !! ...and doesn't it just seem odd that *if* Iraq had all these weapons "we" claim they do and were getting the shit kicked out of them, wouldn't they use some of them? any of them?

Of course, another upsetting thing is Carly Simon doing the music to 'Piglet's Big Movie'.
Quote of the Day: "I just wish people would be more aware of the potential consequences of the decisions being made by our government...instead of, you know, worrying about what one of the Dixie Chicks said about the president". - Steve Kerr, guard from the San Antonio Spurs
Movie selection this time of year isn't all that good when you have to choose between 'View From the Top' and 'Piglet's Big Movie'. I think we're gonna go see 'Piglet'.

I've got Aimee Mann song lyrics in my head that won't leave - and no, '1-2-3' will not make it go away. I'm not even sure I *want* them to go away. It is from her song 'The Moth': "...and nothing fuels a good flirtation, like need and anger and desperation.." When you think about all the flirtations you've had - isn't it really 100% true?
I find it incredibly amazing (in a good way) that someone like Rachel Corrie can hold so strongly to her convictions (whether viewed right or wrong) that she lays down her life for it. And get this - not even for her own country.

The most we see in this country is someone living in a tree so loggers can't cut it down or driving a tractor to D.C. and shutting down the entire Mall. We have protests against war that are by-and-large ignored by the government (here to serve their constituents? je think not) and the media
"WAR-huh. Good g-d now! What's it really good for? Absolutely nothing. Say it again." Edwin Starr (and to a lesser extent - Bruce Springsteen) were right.

Michael Moore (or Roger Ebert, as Becky likes to call him) says out of the 535 members of Congress, only ONE has a child enlisted in the armed forces. I guess that means: 'War is OK, as long as it's not MY kid!'
This is a test. In the event of an a emergency (or war) you would be told where to go for safety.
Hello. I am under construction. Please exuse our dust.
